hi all. i have a total of 1270 pounds to get my self a new pc. im going to get everything piece by piece but i already have the OS and the monitor so i only need to decide on the other stuff. can anybody here give me a list of some sort that shows me the best system i can have with a budget of 1310 pounds.

well id like it to be i7 system with gtx 295 and a hard drive about 500gb would be enough since i will be only using the pc for gaming and some microsoft word stuff :) the rest of the stuff i need to build the system i nearly have no clue about picking them :S help pls!

As nVidia very kindly pointed out, the i7 doesn't help with gaming much compared with a Q series, so i would save and go with AMD. Then you could have something like 2 4890s in crossfire, and spend the amount you saved on other stuff, like a kick ass monitor and gaming keyboard and mouse. 1TB isn't that much more expensive than 500GB, so i would go for that.

i agree if your only going to be gaming or doing basic stuff then amd would be the way to go, an i7 rig would cost a fair bit more an you wouldnt see much improvement in games over an amd system, so u could save yourself a little bit for a top spec keyboard etc

dont need monitor dont need keyboard dont need os dont need mouse :D

unfortunately i need to spend my money now, ill be taking it abroad. i need to order in the first week of september the latest will the 5xxx series be out then ?

i can spend the whole 1270(miss calculated before), i am insisting on i7 and gtx 295 :D ill be using this system for a fairly long time.

can anyone suggest me some stuff? :) dont want a pre built system ill be buying piece by piece

make sure you buy quality stuff, returning faulty goods from abroad could be fun/expensive. Maybe brands that undertake their own returns? They might have a more local option than returning to ocuk.

You seem set on that 295. . . I'd agree with the i7 if buying now but why the nvidia? There's cheaper and arguably faster solutions- twin 275's/4890.

I agree with above the 4890 in crossfire is on par with the gtx 295 for a much lower price.
IF yo just want a single card get a gtx 285.

if your really hung up on getting an i7 an gtx 295 then maybe somthing like this would be suitable an it comes in just under your budget. tho i agree with other people that 2x275's or 2 4890's would give u more bang for your buck

2x 4890 is as powerfull as gtx 295?

and what is Noctua NF-P12 Vortex-Control 120mm Quiet Case Fan :D

watercooling too complicated for me :S

in benchmarks 2 4890's in crossfire are are on par with the gtx295 and the noctua is a very quiet powerfull fan for the cpu cooler i picked out. with that i7 processor its a waste to no overclock it and i know people who have clocked it to 3.6-3.8ghz on air cooling
