i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

The game patched to allow for the customisation he needs, a free £550+ graphics card, free Dead Space Downfall and Aftermath Blu-Rays and some other dead space posters and bits and also a couple of figures. And some free games, S.T.A.L.K.E.R. (CoP?) MW2, Far Cry 2 and Shogun 2 and a free copy of 3DMark 11, that's about it I think.

Also been featured on several gaming news sites and in PC Gamer magazine about gaming accessability.

Not bad eh :p
and a copy of dirt 3 in may . :)

This thread and the interest it has generated on other websites, and generally amongst the gaming community, be it amateurs or professionals, has provided something tangible and hopefully ongoing. I don't want to speak too soon just yet, but I feel quietly confident that at the very least some developers will make controls fully customisable in future titles. Why they weren't in the first place I have no idea.
yeah some developers have promised for fully customisable controls . now i want the others to do the same..

i guess the way to do it is to get a game that doesn't have fully customisable made by each company then show each one why it's important to have fully customisable controls.

this seemed to of worked with Visceral

Gareth! I challeneg you to a Shogun 2 showdown!!!!! :p
that'll be good, ;)
I don’t normally post much more of a lurker reader then poster, just read this thread from start to finish and just lost for words

Gareth you are truly inspirational, much respect for you mate

Hats off to you and all forum members/AMD/Ocuk Staff.
Such a heart warming thread :)
like many others i have only just stumbled along this thread.

Gareth, it may be a cliche but you really are an inspiration. Great work to everyone who helped as well and great that they patched the game for you. Hopefully they will learn this for future games as well.

Keep on gaming.
thank u :)

Gareth how was the psu? really good build quality/modular wiring? is it quiet? i've seen a lot of good reviews about it but would be nice to hear someone's opinion if it in action.

Is the HAF-X quiet too?

Make a vid of you playing Shogun 2 when you can mate would be great to see.:)
tbh im surprised the psu is good quality (in the past i had a bad time with Corsair psu). it is quiet , i don't hear any noise from it...

the haf-x is quiet also.... i just got 2 noise fans on my cpu heatsink :o

yeah i'll make a video of me playing Shogun 2

Subject: SpecailEffect Loan Library 'Evil' Controller

Hi Gareth,

I have been in contact with Adam from Evil Controllers about making the controller we discussed.

He said the following:

"Suggestions:
One of the best features we offer is our "nomad" controller, which allows you to do several things.
1. Remap buttons (assign any button to a "blank" button. Ideal for constantly changing button layouts in upcoming games)
2. Toggle (tap the button and it will imitate a press and hold)
3. Rapid (press and hold the button and it will imitate rapid presses)
The main feature we want to integrate is the remapping aspect (others included as well). The idea is to:
1. Add 4 buttons "blank" as well as the thumb-stick clicks. That way he could change the layout of the buttons whenever needed.
2. Make a mouth piece that has 2 "blank" silicone buttons on it. These can be pressed with your tongue. Imagine if he could control gas and brake with his tongue and use his face to move the thumb-stick simultaneously!
Thumb-stick Swap Feature:
Another feature is our thumb-stick swapping ability. With a slide switch, you can make the two thumbsticks switch entirely (southpaw) or you can even switch X or Y axis on each stick for Legacy southpaw. Integrating that into the design would be a great feature. The idea behind our work is to allow adaption and customization so that it doesn't become obsolete as new games release."

What do you make of the features? I told him that I don't know how keen you would be on using a mouth piece but let me know if otherwise. The other options including the special additions sound great to me.

Regards,

Bill
