i just got dead space 2 but i'm so disappointed

You mentioned you got right click to move forward just once (ie presses once but not hold down) was this via AutoHotKey? If so I can try and fix it to do holds correctly.
yes and i tried with it's own software also

i guess my mouse is crap as button 4 (i think it's #4) doesn't work in any other mouse software ......

Gareth, perhaps it would be helpful to start looking at custom options available? I was overwhelmed by the video and, with your permission, would like to motion toward donations via one of our mods. Is this something you'd be open to? I'm sure OcUK would like to help you find the best bit of kit for your needs
yes..

i'm open to all thoughts/ideas and to make gaming easyer in games that don't support fully custom configuration

Yes, but the lad can't be expected to go through and edit an ini file every time he buys a new game. Either we need to start a campaign for devs & publishers to be clearer about the way games may be played, or we need to have a proper hardware & software solution to work with games released.
true , i shouldn't need to go through edited an ini file when i buy a new game, all games should support fully custom configuration in game..

You never know chap!

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2011-01-07-ms-hints-at-official-kinect-pc-support

the hacked drivers are out there which show the potential. If MS release official ones who knows what people will do with them!
it would be a great idea if they did tbh....
Did you have any luck over the the dead space forums?
i've been at hospital for most of the afternoon so not had time to post it yet. i'm gonna eat now then post it, :)

I meant to ask you Gareth, apart from your key re-mapping problem, how does Dead Space 2 run on your rig? I've been thinking about picking it up myself but have read that the game has quite a few issues on PC. Any perfrmance issues you've noticed?
no performance issues so far.

the first afew minutes of that i played i was getting 105fps+ with my 6950 (unlocked shaders)@ 880/1250 , 1920x1080, maxed settings.

thank u SPARC, :)

i'm hoping one of the EA mods or Developer does looks at it and reply

another thing that makes me mad is they know once you're bought the game and opens it you can't return it, so if i take a chance and buy a game and if the controls can't be customisable, theres no way of returning it.

it shouldn't be like this.... games are not cheap

Exactly, as I posted above, rather than go to individual companies, it might be more prudent to go to a major news site, who I'm sure have various contacts within all the major players such as EA/Activision/THQ, and the likes of Microsoft/logitech for peripherals etc
yeah that might be better.

tbh i'm sure everybody would benefit from having fully customizable controls in all games. u shouldn't have to be tied down to only one way to control the game.

Most definitely. Different strokes for different folks. There are over 100 keys on a standard keyboard, and gaming grade mice can have multiple buttons so why the hell shouldn't we be able to remap them to whatever is most comfortable? Makes no sense.....
i totally agree

we pay good money out for these games and most of them your tied down to only one way to control the game. and for some people it means they can't play it which = waste of money

i bought 4 games in the past £25~ each, i couldn't play them due to not having fully customizable controls , so that meant i wasted £100~ over a month.

enough is enough now tbh.

@Gareth

First of all, I'm so glad you can enjoy the games you like (mostly...apart from DS 2) and as many people have said, it's truly amazing :)

Second: What mouse do you currently have? I've read most of the thread, but didn't notice anything with that mentioned...

Keep playing the games you love
thanks mate

my mouse is a toshiba pa3706e-1et1

Hi mate I don't think I've ever seen anything as amazing as this. Hats of to you sir you are a true inspiration.

I know this is out of your budget range but I recently purchased
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=KB-024-ST

The mouse is huge, biggest mouse I've ever had, it has your normal left and right click, then buttons on the outside of the left and right click, then buttons either side of the scroll weel, then the press down scroll wheell and a button behind it. So in total you have 8 buttons on top not including scroll up/down but I'm not sure how you could get on with scrolling. The mouse goes up to 5,000 DPI also.

Also like has been said foot pedals are great mate.
that mouse looks cool as it has lot of buttons on top, but only only one problem is the size of it... is it much bigger than a normal mouse?

I was wondering...If he has ever thought about using a USB foot button or two for example...But not understanding his condition entirely I can't remember if he has use of his legs
my legs move around a lot when i'm concentrating on something, e.g gaming..

sorry if my spelling wrong, :o

Ah okay :(....Shame, could have been useful for walking etc or shooting

So going by your mouse now it isn't actually that big? Is it the size / width of the mouse that stops you using certain ones then because they are harder to move?
my mouse is designed for Notebook so isn't as big like normal desktop mouse

yeah it's the size/width, and the weight

I would say yes it is larger, the top part of the mouse is slightly larger than a normal mouse but it is the base of the mouse which is the large part.

If you want I can take pictures from the top and from the bottom comparing it to the logitec G5 when I get home - I would say the G5 is a normal size mouse.

Just let me know mate :)
if u could do that , that would be very helpful

what's the weight of it like?

thanks mate

What you need, is a mouse like yours now but with hopefully a couple more buttons / easier to use buttons...? But with customisable weight...

Hopefully someone can post a couple where the weights can be changed in them :)
yes thats what i want...

but it's so difficult to find...

i'm wondering if ocuk find things like this and stock them?
