I love Final Fantasy XV

I will certainly be getting this and I really enjoy the FF games. Plenty of games out that I don't enjoy but I don't feel the need to chastise anyone who does :(

I'll be getting this, I've heard some great stuff from people who's opinion I trust, mainly because they're FFVIII fans :p

Shame it peaked at 7 ;)

While I understand what you're saying, it only serves to highlight my point. I was a massive 8 fan, more so than 7. I'm going off the logic that if someone has whatever it is about a person that makes them prefer 8 over 7 in common with me, their opinions on future games in the same genre will be more valuable than every Tom, Dick and Harry that spouts relentlessly about the genius of 7. 7's a great game, but I don't think anyone can honestly say it isn't overrated. The same can't be said for 8, which means I put higher value on the opinions of those rare people who do recognise it.

I'm looking forward to FFXV coming to PC, It's going to look stunning coming from the regular PS4 version, I've purposely held off playing any of the episode DLCs as waiting for all the improvements that's coming to PC, I'm even more excited to play Episode Ignis.

Also looking forward to FF12, I also bought that for PS4 on it's release but only played it once but did put a considerable amount of hours into it, I simply couldn't be bothered to turn my PS4 on to continue playing it haha, I should have learnt my lesson it was clear it was coming to PC but when you go out to get a drink and some fuel and the game is there staring you in the eyes, you have no choice but to pick it up :(

Im glad this is coming to the PC may eventually buy it on sale.

I did think it was a weak entry in the franchise. The story was dull and it just seemed as if they cut a lot. I did enjoy the gameplay though and the graphics even on consoles look great in my eyes.

Will be good to play at 60fps locked

FF12 ive been holding off getting since it was announced for ps4 so will 100% pick that up when it comes out in a couple of weeks

I was definitely more excited to play VII and I binged the entire thing with little sleep in a fairly short amount of time. Whereas with VIII though I enjoyed it I found towards the end I flagged a little. However... when I went back to both games again I found VII had aged incredibly poorly whilst VIII still appealed to me as a somewhat older (still young I guess) gamer.

edit: I don't mean graphics-wise regarding aging btw. Though that is also true I suppose.

As much as 15 story was a complete mess and only made some sense if you watched the films before hand the game itself was fun to play and I enjoyed the combat, was incredibly easy though so easy to max xp and level up with out much effort

I quite enjoyed 15, It was a nice change of pace. I got into the series at 7.... Yes I was one of those fanboys and could not wait for 8 to be released. I played it and finished it of course but it did not hold and captivate me the way 7 did and I think I need to go back and give this another go. 9 on the other hand did. I loved 9 and think it is one of the best in the series. I disliked 10 immensely but finished it, 11 which I have a good go but ultimately disliked, 12 Was OK at best imo and I never got around to finishing it, 13 was simply awful and I never touched 14.

However saying all of that, I have tried to go back and play 7 and 9 recently and found them clunky and not so great. It is not the graphics but more the actual game play was not as great as I remember. Cutscenes you cannot skip or in game interactions that are just INCREDIBLY slow, Even battles took forever I.E really slow attacking movements and summons\Ultimates..... MY GOD THEY TAKE FOREVER. It was 100% a case of rose tinted glasses with these games and I can see why the genre is switching from a turn based combat system to a real time combat system that was implemented in 13, Albeit poorly and why the 7 remake appears to be real time instead of turn based.

That is not to say I do not still enjoy 7,8,9 as I do, But I believe I would struggle to play them again and actually enjoy it as I did back in the day. Saying that I did dig out my old PS the other week and start playing Breath of Fire 3 again as that game is awesome. Anyone who has not played that should 100% give it a go.

Seems like FF15 and FF12 on PC might be quite pricey... seeing figures of around £40 for FF15 and £35 for FF12?

FFXV is now on steam for pre-order at £34.99

In other news the FFXV Windows edition benchmark tool is available for download... Not sure I get their scoring system but there we go...

Well I've been absolutely hammering FF12 and it's still by far my favorite FF game. Definitely worth the price.

Not sure about 15 tho - jury still out on that. Still got a month to decide :p
