I'm going to throw in "Roll for the Galaxy". A more approachable version of Race for the Galaxy, that supports 5 players pretty well. It's not quite a quick, but it's a excellent dice game that offers a lot of interesting choices.
Yeah, I saw. Watching Moray have his disaster while trying to build an economic Death Star was fun. I picked up on it a bit faster when I first played, but I have past experience with Eminent Domain which has some very similar mechanics.
How did you find the group, BTW? I thought I'd just let you get on with it and meet people rather than say "Hi, these guys are my fault".
We had a great time. When we introduced ourselves from the OCUK forums they looked confused but we really enjoyed it.
Got a copy of "Gloom - Cuthulu" in the post this morning had half a game with the mrs before i had to go to work.
The way the cards are designed is great, clear plastic cards so effects from previous cards and modifiers show through. Half the game is about telling the story and making it as involved as possible. So might be a good way to get the mrs involved
