I want new GFX

D2X = Asus' answer to the creative xfi (and chip)

A high end soundcard with good DACs, actual working and reliable drivers and software, some nifty features and to top it off, is PCI-E based. :)

If you want a new graphics card get 2 X2s with 2 3870s the get a mobo with 4 PCI Express x16 slots amd then you could have 6 gpus :p

The sad thing is crysis is still going to have a minimum fps of around 15-20 even when a next gen card is released

tbh i dont see any games out this year that can benefit a new card, the only 2 good multiplayer games for pc would be Left 4 Dead & maybe GTA IV in oct.

Min fps of around 15-20, at what settings? at 1280x1024 all high I never got that low at all and at 1680x1050 it was only the end that resulted in this, new cards will have a higher min frame rate.

You know this how?

Have to agree, were in 2008, and yet they are still churning out 2006 8800's, May 2007 2900's (which should have been out 6 months earlier, but were delayed), it is boring as hell, im well and truly bored with it, give us something new to play with ffs, take your 9 series/3870 series and shove em right up yer arse, we bought these cards back in 2006 and May 2007.:mad:

not really.. you only have to look at farcry, even on max settings now what is the average framerate? in the 70's or 80's and that game is years old.

But even current cards are doing well past 20fps at very high settings (8800GTS 512mb, 3870x2...)

Sounds really good, good ASIO drivers too? I just want good sound a low latency for making music, and i'm really tired of having to rely on PCI slots, gonna move to a PCI-E TVtuner too when i move to DVB-C.

Well i suppose it's fine, they do run all the game out there and i'd rather they develop the technology, i'd wish they would at least make a cheaper refresh of the GTX though, now that we have the GT and GTS, so that people who are out there buying hardware now can get stuff cheaper. I should have went for a GTX originally, i've gone GTS640->GT->GTS512, the last one was because i gave the GT to my brother for free for an upgrade, should have just gotten a new GT though, the GTS512 is not worth it. Next time i'm buying a GTX like card and sticking with it, maybe going SLI later if i need it.

Sure, the problem with Crysis is however that it constantly just pauses to load material, it gets so annoying after playing for a while, my card can do high settings just fine FPS-wise, but when it just stops every 10 seconds to load something it gets extremely annoying. More RAM on the cards and a bigger bus is needed to fix this.

I think something is wrong with your puter then because it doesn't do this to me.

Games have got nothing to do with it, its called progression, everything progresses, but Nvidia and AMD have not progressed since 2006, they are still in 2006, while we are all in 2008, fact is the 8 series/2900 series are now old tech, they should have moved on from 2006 like everyone/thing else has.

Im talking about minimum fps, because thats where it counts. not max or av.

What Nvidia and ATI really need to do with their top end cards, like nvidias ultra for instance.. is make them at least 20% (favorably 40% or so) quicker than GTX because the price premium you pay for a couple of % at best is awful. This will stop top end games like crysis running like crap and really help the minimum fps a ton.
