i5 3570K quick test.

When will you be pushing towards 4.8?

If it can reach 4.8Ghz, then for sure, this will be a better cpu than the SB (which also reaches around 4.8Ghz, but with lower IPC).

Bear in mind though, even at these speeds, we are talking very small margins. In real World usage, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a IB and SB.

We just need to see the pricing of these babies and see if the SB CPUs reduce in price (to clear stock).

Any more testing stulid? really looking forward to more results, as Monday approaches I need to make a firm decision whether to buy or not, I'll be happy if it is totally stable at 4.5Ghz-4.6 at low volts and temps but I have not seen any real reports of this yet.

@ Stulid

Many thanks for the review, its defo made my mind up on getting IB, was tempted to get the i7 but deep down I know the i5 will do what I need

:)

Not looking good to be honest.

Thanks for the honest answer, I know it wasn't looking good before but tbh everyone has been how can I say it, avoiding the subject slightly, thank goodness for honest user opinions:), thanks stulid, I think I will get a 2500k now

So, in your opinion what would be the highest stable 24/7 overclock, for your particular CPU? 4.4Ghz?

4.5Ghz is rock solid, strange that it ****s up with anything more.

Could be the betaBIOS, could be a lack of Vcore.

Could just be a **** chip?

And after owning a 2500K that was 5Ghz+ (ran SuperPI at 5.2Ghz), could have gone higher if was a brave man with the Vcore.

I guess I was expecting the same.
