Thanks for your honest review stulid, I would avoid ivybridge if I were u. I knew it will come to poor overclocking chip. Glad I stick to my i7 2600K at 5GHz at 1.38v.

And after owning a 2500K that was 5Ghz+ (ran SuperPI at 5.2Ghz), could have gone higher if was a brave man with the Vcore.

I guess I was expecting the same.

So if you had the choice which would you go for in my position, I have a z77 board all ready, 2500k or 3570k?

What kinda temps are you pulling currently at 4.6Ghz Stulid? isn't 1.35v and 4.6Ghz still with in the "reasonable" tempratures for IB?

prime95 has been going for over half an hour now(I usally have issues around 10minutes if it's going to stop)

temps recorded,

max 64,71,70,64

current temps right now are low to mid 60's

Thats not too bad then. Expect you'll be hitting 70-80 on all cores when you're at 1.38v and 4.8Ghz. You cooling on air or water?

Im correct in understand that the kuhler performs just a bit better than high end air cooling correct? I say a bit I mean like 10-20% cooler kind of idea?

yes.

closed loop are useful for tall ram(which I have) or a neat look inside the case, as there's not 2kg of metal swallowing up the space.

Ah I get it. Im looking forward to my IB build in June. I won't be exceeding 4.8Ghz. Even if I could I wouldn't really see the point. Might even get lucky and the architecture might be close to maturing a bit more by the time I make my build ^.^

looks like I might have 4.7ghz sorted

similar temps to 4.6, just needed more vcore again to stop prime95 crashing.
