I7 920 D0 overclocked to 4.0GHz - CPUZ reports 2833MHz at best?!

No sorry, but I think I have been calm long enough. All I expect when I spend over £800 is to receive the items I've paid for. They were quick enough to answer questions before I had parted with my cash, but after that, no replies.

I'm glad you've received excellent service, but I know of MANY others who have not. I knew this before I made my purchase but thought I would give OC the benefit of the doubt as I had ordered with them a long time ago and had no probs. However, judging by a independent shop review site that dates back to 2001, it would appear OC is a victim of its own success. Back then reviews were all good, however, since then its clear from the number of complaints that the company grew too fast for its own good and its infrastructure could not handle that rapid growth effectively.

Time IS of the essence here. If overclockers manage to stall over seven days since I received the goods, I will not be able to return the goods under the Distance Selling Regulations, meaning I will not have a right to a refund.

mmm
I got my kit on the 25th with NO bios overclocking and NO profiles loaded
and i am still waiting for a good overclocked bios. the 1 thay emailed me was 3.8 not the 4.0 and it crashes so i have had to reload 2.6 setting.
but thay look at the posts but dont up date and let you no what is going on.
i am also getting disaponted with the service of oc.
lol
OcUK Overclocked Bundles feature carefully selected components tested to assure compatability & stability, guaranteeing the integrity of the overclock.

We worry about the fiddling and tweaking, you just enjoy the performance.
is this miss sales info for me YES.

There are so many posts about these overclocked bundles not working properly. I really do wonder if they actually do test them properly like they say.

My sentiment is the same. The components are supposedly cherry picked to provide a fast and stable overclock with little hassle. I've had the bundle for a nearly a week now and a stable 4.0Ghz overclock is not achievable without Prime95 causing a bluescreen. Temp hitting 81 degs.

I've noticed the 4Ghz overclock profile has the vcore set to 1.3v which is higher than what I've seen other people quote on this forum. However, lowering the voltage doesn't lower the temps :(

Hmm, I was actually tempted to go for one of these bundles but there seems to be many issues from people who have bought them.

Seems like a solid idea of selling pre-overclocked hardware but the excution of it seems poor.

Do it yourself seems the best way to go.

I've got a new power supply now, but its made no difference as system is still blue screening @ 4.0GHz after just a few mins of Prime 95! So despite me paying an extra 15 quid for the OC and now another £130 on a new power supply (of which I probably didn't need), I still cannot use this very expensive PC at capacity.

Stressed for 4 hours @ 3.8GHz and all is fine there, but judging by the amount of people with the same/similar problems, its quite clear that the 4.0GHz OC is not stress tested AT ALL. So what are we paying the extra £15 for exactly?
