i7 920 temp query

well low and behold I'm VERY impressed with Corsairs RMA service, arrived today, would have been Friday if it wasnt due to the snow.

BRAND NEW UNIT oooooo yeah :)

It may have cost me 5quid more to send it to netherlands than sending to OcUK but my god atleast it was a gaurenteed replacement.
I was waiting for my H50 back from Corsair before I went to town with OcUK with regards to their RMA testing fees, return delivery, poor customer service and loss of packaging.

That's good news mate, lets just hope that your temps are sorted out once you install it.

Have you checked the unit to see whether it made the sloshing sound that your first one did?

well I got her installed, single fan (Corsair supplied) in exhaust fashion. used the stock paste and its running Prime as we speak - 66,63,63,62 @stock on load, looks and sounds much better. 43,39,41,39 @stock on idle. Dont think it will get much better than this tbh.

The initial sloshing was there but was no where near as much as the previous unit. I'm happier now which is what counts I guess.

Would like to thank everyone who has keep intouch with this thread.

thats good news, there will always be air in these, guess ur old one just had more than most.

ocuk refunded u?

nope, Returns Manager doesnt want to know, now I have managed to receive a brand new unit from Corsair which performs better than the original then I will try and speak to the Returns Manager's Manager.

If all else fails the credit card company can battle them - unauthorised payment etc

That sounds a bit to high for a stock temp. That's a 3.6 OC temp on mine using Noctua NH-U12P on Antec 1200.
Try doing a 20 run of Linx to find out how hot it will go and run core temp and real temp alongside.
