I9 9900k

9900k will give you the best fps at lower resolutions and the highest 'lows' at 4k where the load is largely on the GPU. For consistent frame times and being the 'best' for gaming, the 9900k is top of the pile. But as has already been stated, the difference is much less to zero at 4k where games are pretty much gpu bound right now.
But if DLSS works as intended and makes gaming at 4k easier on the gpu then more load will once again be put on the cpu and then the 9900k will again be the top pick.

I think the pecking order is set to change in about 6 months when the ryzen 3000 series is released.
So if you can wait 6 months to see what kind of performance zen 2 brings then you might get much better or equal performance for less than the cost of a 9900k.
Of course there is always the chance that the rumours and speculation wont pan out but that seems unlikely.

And naturally if you wait 6 months and zen 2 comes out there will be those that urge you to wait for whatever Intel's response is. :D

I got the Hero and it’s a Stella mobo fact...

Screw the click bait YouTube videos , whatever ASUS have done with the VRMs tweaks the Hero is a great mobo.

Gigabyte for a crap bios , crap clockig memory but over engineered VRMs :p

Dont get the Asrock Extreme 4 with its 12 phase VRMs...it’s poo
