So the options on your board are "Auto" and "Level 1"...
That's not right or you have a very budget board, like super budget.

There are 5 LLC Levels and on ASROCK Level 1 is the highest. On Asus it is in reverse.

This particular board has the most expensive individual VRM's of any board, its why i bought it :)

On ASRock boards there's a little image of a graph that shows you which level is which. Level 5 is the default and means the voltage will drop the most under load.

My no AVX offset 9900KF Result using a Corsair 240mm AIO.

Asrock Phantom Gaming ITX. Ram set to 3200 c14.

LLC - Level 1 (maximum)
AVX Offset - zero
Cache - 46
BLCK - 100

All voltages are set in BIOS and then observed in HWMonitor and coretemp whilst running Cinebench 20.

x50 multi - 1.2v (BIOS) 1.286v (AVX Voltage offset reading)) max temp package - 83c - Core (2) 68c - max power 127.37w.

Won't be able to try higher until I replace my radiator for a larger model.

upgraded my radiator and i have x52 multi at 1.31v LLC level 2 and x53 multi at 1.385v also at Level 2.

Cinebench R20 with 5ghz, no avx and HT enabled should draw a lot more wattage than that? are you throttling somewhere?

Still using a 6700K here. Tempted by the 9900KS unless the 3950X is better than it in games.

Or should I wait for the next round of Intel CPUs?..

the 6700k at 5ghz remains the fastest cpu i have ever used. i wouldn’t budge unless you absolutely need the upgrade. to make the best of the 9900k you will need a big radiator, similar for the 3950X. i think the 8086k is better than either and would be my pick.

In my opinion you’d be better off waiting, or grab a cheap 8700k/8086k if anything.

The 6700k is still fast enough and not many games would see the benefit of the extra cores to be honest.

In other scenarios, multithread etc then sure but for games it probably isn’t worth it. Next set of intel cpus are likely to offer a nice step in performance.

9900k is not worth the money at current pricing

It has had price cuts over time though - over here it's about $100usd cheaper now than it was 3 months ago.
But I do agree, it's still a tad expensive, I think they need to cut another $50 to $100usd off the price.

If I convert it, it was around 489 pounds 3 months ago, and it’s currently selling for 401 pounds. The 3900x is currently at 510 pounds

we are looking at 500 in the uk
I just don't see it as a 500 cpu anymore. There is just too much on the table from amd and even lower cost Intel chips that do just as good in gaming

I guess those prices don't include the UK's 20% VAT? If that's the case, then the prices are pretty similar for the 9900k over here.

They don't include VAT, but they do include 15% sales tax - which means a 9900k is cheaper over here than in the UK, surprisingly. I still think it's overpriced

Tbf it's been the case for a long time. I dont know where your from.. but I used to buy paintball gear from the usa because there new prices was cheaper than the UK's used prices. I looked at computer hardware too but didn't know how warranty would work so never got anything but prices was much lower
