There's no need to worry, if the planes engines fail due to ash as a result of them being forced to fly by airline bosses, the Triangular Formation Lizardmen can handily beam them aboard the mothership.

No worries ;)

RAF suspends Tornado training flights as a result of volcanic ash damage

Flight training on RAF Typhoon jets has been “temporarily suspended” after deposits of ash were found in one of the aircraft’s engines, the Ministry of Defence said today. (Times Online)
You really couldn't make it up :D

I expect that the RAF will be demanding compensation from the Government some time soon.

Thank God O'Rly doesn't use Typhoons

Yup, and just like people sometimes they will build up and build up then nothing will come of it, or they won't seem that bad and suddenly something will tip them over the edge and they just explode without warning, aka St Helens which exploded like it did because fo a seismic tromor tha set one side of the volcano in movement, releasing some pressure, and like a lemonade bottle exploded.:p

What are you on about?

Earthquake levels have been broadly the same for ages, just look at past events, such as San fransisco in the early 20th century. Same with Volcanoes, Krakatoa and Santorini that destroyed the Minoan Civilisation around 4k years ago.

Actually there has been a large increase in quakes per year since 1980.

Take a look

http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=15767475&postcount=27

mag 8-9.9 1980-2000 = 10 A TWENTY YEAR GAP
mag 8-9.9 2000-2009 = 13 A NINE YEAR GAP

mag 7-7.9 1980-2000 = 232
mag 7-7.9 2000-2009 = 131

mag 6-6.9 1980 -2000 = 2319

mag 6-6.9 2000-2009 = 1324

1980-2000 total = 2561

2000-2009 total = 1468

more than 50% quakes in last 9 years compared to 1980-2000 so yes has been more quakes as of late thanks for the numbers. And a lot more 8-9.9 quakes.

1980-2000 average 128.05 quakes a year
2000-2009 average 163.11 quakes a year

The Ministry of Defence said that RAF training flights on Typhoons based at RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire have been suspended, after checks on one aircraft found ash deposits in one of its engines

An RAF spokesman said the Typhoons were "very high performance jets" so staff were "just being extra cautious".

has anyone thought that instead of terrorists attacking well guarded security conscious targets... whats to stop them from instigating natural disasters such as this, havign seen the chaos erupt?

bombs into fault lines, volcanoes or dams etc maybe the UK armed forces wont be able to respond and the security forces cant cover all of these areas as well as they can control say, heathrow airport?
