Hi guys,

Frames per second are something that matters to me when playing a game. I can't handle a game playing at less than constant 60fps. I wouldn't even dream of playing an online game below 60fps.

How do you feel, I hear some of you are playing Crysis on 35fps. For me I wouldn't even bother; Am I crazy or are other people in the same boat? I can't stand the thought of missing a beat...

yep i know what your saying not sure about 60fps thou but must be smooth for me to enjoy and there is no way i would play Crysis due to it's awful frame rate ppl are getting.
I think slow down is worse than lower frame rate for me.

I suppose to some extent it depends on the game.

For me over, 20fps with occasional dips to 15 dps or so is fine. When I'm running at 30-40 fps I can't see the point of going any higher. One day when I get a better PC I might find out.

There's a big difference between 35 and 60, imo. 60+ is where things look ultra smooth.

Crysis is an odd one, even though the FPS is generally far lower than any other game it still maintains its playability, I don't think there is annother game out that I would play and still feel comfortable at the framerates I was getting.

Everything else it needs to be 30fps+ at all times minimum, preferably in the 60+ as I play with Vsync and I hate it when games drop below 60fps and my framerate is slashed.

The Human eye sees 25ish fps max, so between 25-30 is all you need, but I don't play with fraps running to see my framerate all the time.

There is a thread about this about once per week, and someone always says this and then the same link comes up about how you're wrong :p

60+..on some games u notice under 60 aspecially when playing FPS online. Seems so much smoother and responsive when over 60.

The reason Crysis and perhaps a few other modern games remain quite playable at 20-30 fps is the use of motion blur. It makes you much less receptive to the relatively low frame rate. Crysis is just about playable in very high graphics on my machine, even though I'm probably only getting around 15fps. It's not very comfortable to play like that so I have it on high where I get 25-30 by my guess.

LOL

Anyway, ideal fps is 125 if you wanna be any good

Thats with First Person Shooters anyway

all games are different tbh, racing games can be played at a much lower fps than shooters imo,

fps doesn't mean much to me but it is all about how the game feels, some games just feel sluggish under 60fps,

and you may be right about the visual side of things but try playing at 100fps then going back to 25, there will be a huge difference
