What would you say is the minimum TV size that you would have to play your games on? Then, your prefered size? Id say max size but you can never get too big can you? :D

For a living room etc i personally would say 32" is the minimum. Ideally i'd want something like 42" so it'd be epic for movies too.

At the end of the day it comes down to personal preference and the size of the room you plan on using it in.

How big should I go when im sat on my bed 2-3 metres away from the screen? Will 37/40 be overkill or just right?

I currently have a 32" normal and struggle to fps game on it.. I can manage it but I struggle to see distance on it.. I know it will be due to it not being in HD, but I think size will benefit me also

To take advantage of full HD, 2-3m you should really go for 50in minimum for 1080p stuff! But 42in realistic minimum for gaming I feel, I sit about 1.5m from my 42in plasma.

Even if I had one of them 152" TVs I'd still only be sat a couple of feet away. :D I can't game as well other wise. I have no idea why it is so.

I would say no bigger than 26 to 32" as 720p or bellow looks terrible on anything bigger. I have to set my PC to 1080p to get a nice picture on my 6 series 40" Sammy. It may look alright on a bigger Plasma as plasmas never seem have as sharp as a picture compared to LCDs.

I sit about a foot away from my 22" viewsonic 1080p monitor and it suits me fine, when i play on my ps3 im about 3m away from a 37" tv which also works. anymore than 3m away from a tv no matter what size id feel too far away to get into the game properly.

that'll be because the desktop will always look rubbish when running a non-native resolution. Plasma's not being as sharp as lcd's is a myth which ive disproved once before here.

one of those task bars is captured (by photo) on my sony 16.4" laptop @ 1600x900, the other on a 50" panasonic 50pz80 @ 1080p. I'll let you decide which is which, because believe me they are both pin sharp.

To be honest 720p can look good on over 32", it just depends how close you are to the screen and the quality of the screen itself. At 7-9 ft 720p looks great on 42" in my oppinion, in a bedroom scenario however, i think 32" is the sweet spot :) (unless your bedroom is of uber proportions)
