Identify this bug

We have had quite a few of these in our garden and on our windows recently. Now I know what they are it makes sense as we have a small conifer wood no more than 150m from us. Can't recall seeing them before though.

So that's not a sting. Glad I rescued it now.

Hampshire which for once isn't chucking it down with rain.

Good on you... so many people would just squash it out of ignorance... and being namby-pamby scaredy cats. So sting or not it does not deserve to die.

Mind you, are you sure it wasn't using that screw as a weapon? :D

Well my first instinct was "Jayyyyyyzus.. squish that thing". That lasted about a second before "If the cat eats that, that sting will go right thru their brain" and also "Where the hell are my gloves, I ain't touching that thing" and finally "Someone on OCuK whose dad kills things for a living will be able to identify that"

I reckon it was probably trying the screw out for size before coming back to shiv one of the cats with it.

:)

I frequently have to retrieve lizards and mice to save them from being turned into an inside-out jigsaw puzzle on the front doormat.

Dosent matter where its from, we should welcome it with open arms...

No wait send it back...

oh im not sure, can i change my mind???
:p:rolleyes::eek::mad::confused::):(;):D:o

All bugs/insects apart from ones who polinate have no reason for existence.
They will be destroyed on sight.
