As has been said throughout this post Chi-Fi is really doing incredible bits producing cheap IEM's that are worth it, another Youtuber that does a lot of collaborations is of course Crinacle. Currently running different IEM's depending on what's easily grabbable and the application such as playing drums chuck them in and have a grand old time. All cheaper end but still run circles around any wireless headphones;

Moondrop Chu ver.1
Salnotes Zero
KBear KS2
KZ ZSN's

The Turhear Zero Red is also worth a serious look if you're sticking under £50. I picked them up for gaming on the go but they're surprisingly good for music too.

What's your budget mate. I have the Dusks and they just sound exquisite. They're detailed but not clinical. Lovely timber and a nice sharp leading edge to instruments and vocals. And bass is perfect out the box for realistic depth and slam, and when you crank the EQ for bass it delivers plenty more without breaking a sweat.

Any chance you can try the following EQ on 3.5mm? I'm tempted between the dusks and the volume s but after spending countless hours looking, have come to accept that EQ is probably required with anything.

It's a tweak on the default crin EQ (dsp settings) designed to smooth things out. It should be something like a blend of analogue and dsp with the recess in the upper bass and lower mids filled in just slightly. The spike around 16k looks really nasty on a graph but no idea if anything around that frequency is at all audible in music as I don't know enough about music/sound, then there is differences with people/age.

Preamp: -0.9 dB

Filter 1: ON PK Fc 26 Hz Gain -0.8 dB Q 0.500

Filter 2: ON PK Fc 70 Hz Gain 0.5 dB Q 0.700

Filter 3: ON PK Fc 140 Hz Gain 0.6 dB Q 0.700

Filter 4: ON PK Fc 260 Hz Gain 0.4 dB Q 0.700

Filter 5: ON PK Fc 960 Hz Gain 0.2 dB Q 1.800

Filter 6: ON PK Fc 1300 Hz Gain -1.5 dB Q 1.600

Filter 7: ON PK Fc 2940 Hz Gain 0.7 dB Q 1.600

Filter 8: ON PK Fc 5360 Hz Gain -1.3 dB Q 1.900

Filter 9: ON PK Fc 8000 Hz Gain -1.2 dB Q 2.000

You can order from amazon and have 30 days to return. I suggest that.

I've loaded the recommended dusk eq (forgot the name of it) on to the Qudelix 5K and for me it's absolutely spot on.

Just pulled the trigger on some Aful MagicOne's last night after a feew beers  and depending on which review you read, they can be quite difficult to drive, so would the Qudelix 5K be a good choice for these IEM's, any help appreciated.

I actually bought some Questyle 15C (not the original or the 15i but the C), currently £59 from Aliexpress, half the price as Amazon. From what I read on HeadFi, it's better than the Qudelix 5k.

I also looked at the Muse HiFi 4, that is £84 (£76 after discount code they have on the front page atm). It seems better in terms of feature like Bluetooth but I didn't want a built in battery since that would make it a finite life product with dead battery.

How is it better than the Qudelix 5K?

I very much doubt it sounds better. On par maybe. The Qudelix 5k is an absolute tool with it's parametric EQ, LDAC bluetooth capabilities and a belter of an app.

I don't have the answer to that, I can only quote someone else's opinion and opinions is all we have.

Personally, I think these things are much of muchness, it depends on so many factors like what headphones you have, the type of music you listen to, how loud you like to listen to music, where you listen to them, what your hearing is like. There are so many variables and factors, considering they are all around the same price (The 15C is $130 on their website so same price bracket as the Qudelix 5k).

At the end of the day I specifically did not want something with a battery inside. As my use case will include using it at home on the Mac, so constantly being powered which is not good for the battery. I would prefer longevity over features for something like this.

I agree it depends on use case. Hence to say it's flat out better it's far from the truth.

Also having a quality EQ on board is the biggest tool one can have to tweak the sound profile.

Lastly... I'm pretty sure the Qudelix has a battery bypass mode so it can be purely run on USB power.

Qudelix would power any IEM with ease.

To give context it can even power my HiFiMan Planer cans more than adequately.

I use Plexamp, so would I turn the preset equalisation off, on Plexamp, and use the Qudelix presets? Cheers.
On android or Windows? Yes I'd turn off EQ on a Plexamp.. And use the Qudelix EQ as its well featured and of great quality.

You can always try both ways and see which your prefer.

It'll be used on my android phone, I'll get one ordered and give it a try, cheers.

Has anyone found replacement tips that fit the Crinacle Zero Reds? I bought some Spinfit W1 (small and Medium) and some Dunu S&S (S/M/L) and none of them are large enough for the bore size of the Reds :(

Most I believe are rated officially to around 6mm. Anything above 6.5mm widest point seemingly shouldn't exist. They just seem to cause issues for people and then there's the tip fitment. Then again, no lip and wide point and you get people moaning about the tip getting stuck in ear :D

You could maybe try penon liqueur black or orange depending on the sound you want. Think 6.5mm max maybe though.
