If Halflife 3 was linux exclusive would you change OS?

Mint is what I have used in the past. I love Linux but I don't use it at the moment simply because my desktop is used exclusively for gaming and running Adobe applications.

I just finished a second playthrough of Half Life 2 and actually now I think about it, I'd do pretty much anything to play Half Life 3 at this point. Hell, I'd buy it if it was an iPad exclusive.
 
If I could run EVE and whatever else on Linux, yes.

I'll be very excited if Steam comes to Linux.

Windows has always been more something to endure to play the games than something I run out of choice.

When 100% of my essential apps/games are usable in Linux, then I will switch instantly, it is just SO much better than windows. Right now though Linux lacks a lot of driver support for certain things and lots of apps/games don't work on it, so even if HL3 was Linux only then I would only do a dual boot or a VM for it, HL3 alone wouldn't be sufficient on it's own to warrant me making it my base OS.
 
Nope. I barely have time to play games as it is, so I'm certainly not going to jump through hoops because Gabe Newell has gone power-mad.

It would be a stupid move anyhow. Is Gabe scared of competition or something? This whole Windows 8 thing stinks of 'Oh ****, Microsoft are about to ditch that GFWL rubbish and start selling games through a dedicated Xbox Live hub! We might actually have some competition!'. Right now, Steam IS PC gaming. Sure, there's other stores, but Steam is more than that. It's an end-to-end community. Xbox Live on W8 is going to offer something very similar.
