You get good and bad examples of people providing a service in every job type. Whether its flipping burgers, teaching or policing or whatever.
I always had respect for my teachers when I was in school, regardless of whether they were good or bad, and some were considerably better than others. I don't see why someone could get offended by the idea that they should respect their teachers, but then there does seem to be a lack of respect these days anyway (Both from kids and adults I think - I'm afraid to say that given the actions of most i encounter these days I have little respect for any children even if tarring them all with the same brush is unfair).
Anyway to the subject at hand, i think the poor guy does deserve some sympathy, clearly he was in the wrong profession. Doesnt excuse what he did but I could see myself reacting in a similar way given the same provocation..
