If you could choose any film to re-watch in a cinema...

...lets face it, even if the movie was merely quite good it LOOKED flipping amazing.

I tried to watch it again and just couldn't, it may look pretty but the story was just so weak that the visuals alone couldn't keep me interested long enough

:(

Meh, found Kingdom of Heaven to be very irreligious. Not that I usually mind it, but there were NO reedemable Christian characters in it, something that I felt tarnished the nature of the subject matter it was dealing with.

I disagree strongly....Kingdom of Heaven was very religious, it was slightly biased toward anti clericalism, but given the subject matter that is to be expected given the reasons that Pope Urban actually had for the Crusades to begin with and Pope Alexander III issues with legitimacy.....if you look at the Characters they are all religious to one extent or another....

There are plenty of redeemable Christian Characters....Balian for one, the Knight Hospitaller for another.....

Historically the film has some factual issues....Balian's bloodline and heritage for one, and with regard to your concerns, the Patriarch of Jerusalem is grossly misrepresented as Patriarch Heraclius was probably the opposite kind of man than the negative way he is portrayed in the film (but overall it is a good representation of the period and piety of the time.....)

Another good example of the piety and impact that religion had, but the corruption within the Church that led to anti-clericalism among the Nobility especially is Pillars of the Earth.......

Don't confuse anti clericalism with anti-religion....they are not necessarily the same thing. Remember the Word may be from God, but the Church is from Man........

I feel quite lucky, as the Manchester Odeon does screenings of old films once a week or so. Over the next couple of months, there's ones like Platoon, Sin City, Scarface, Terminator 2 and Trainspotting....all ones I'd consider seeing (primarily Terminator though!)

One of the cinemas in Nottingham (Broadway) apparently has a thing where you can pay a fee and then they'll put on any film you want as long as they can get it. They have a slot (14:00 on a Sunday I think) set aside for this. from their website you get a number of free tickets and then they sell the rest.

Flight of the navigator! just to name one...my list would be near-endless :p

think i must have watched that movie a billion times as a kid.

I've been lucky enough to see Apocalypse Now (no less bonkers) and the Star Wars Trilogy back-to-back (before Lucas broke them) so it would be a tough call between 2001 and Blade Runner.

Blade Runner would probably edge it, though.

Wish we had a cinema round here that would cater to the customers desires. :( Sounds awesome honestly and I can see them making lots of money off of it.

Oh and as for films. Alien would be pretty boss yeah. Woman in Black scared the **** out of me so probably that too. A few James Bond's would be cool too.

As soon as I saw the title, Terminator 2 came to my mind. I was too young to watch it in the cinema when it was released, and remember hearing from people how amazing it was. I saw it on VHS as soon as it was released, and since then I've seen it too many times.

Predator, the original one.

Back to The Future.

It would have been nice to see the above for the first time in the cinema, but if they were released again I wouldn't bother, I've seen them all far too many times now.

They did back to the future last year for the 25th.

I think i hadn't caught it originaly on cinema release, thus it was a must.

Something to be said about going back and watching what you allready have though. There's no way if i went back to watch t2 now it would be the same as it was back in 91... As epic as the film is, the whole scene (music at the time) with the guns and roses theme, rock, grunge ect... it wouldn't be the same.

Same with the Goonies, time and a place...i was 11 at the time, me and 3 of my 10/11 year old mates.

Allways have to be something i never saw, wouldn't be the same on a rewatch:)
