If you could choose any film to re-watch in a cinema...

This thread makes me feel old as many of these Films I saw when they hit the cinema the first time, or in various re-showings....such as Foxeye mentioned The Thing which I saw in a Horror anthology back in the late 80's one Halloween.....that included Alien as well.....

Avatar in 3D

It's really 'meh' when you try watching it in 2D Blu-Ray at home.

It would be absolutely wicked to see Game of Thrones in the cinema. It'll probably never happen though.

I don't get why so many people want to watch avatar again, it wasn't that good.

Totally agree with you Gooner

Alien would be first choice.

And i think I would also like to see Spielberg's first ever film and one of my all time favourites "Duel".

I disagree strongly....Kingdom of Heaven was very religious, it was slightly biased toward anti clericalism, but given the subject matter that is to be expected given the reasons that Pope Urban actually had for the Crusades to begin with and Pope Alexander III issues with legitimacy.....if you look at the Characters they are all religious to one extent or another....

There are plenty of redeemable Christian Characters....Balian for one, the Knight Hospitaller for another.....

Historically the film has some factual issues....Balian's bloodline and heritage for one, and with regard to your concerns, the Patriarch of Jerusalem is grossly misrepresented as Patriarch Heraclius was probably the opposite kind of man than the negative way he is portrayed in the film (but overall it is a good representation of the period and piety of the time.....)

Another good example of the piety and impact that religion had, but the corruption within the Church that led to anti-clericalism among the Nobility especially is Pillars of the Earth.......

Don't confuse anti clericalism with anti-religion....they are not necessarily the same thing. Remember the Word may be from God, but the Church is from Man........

That's fair enough I guess, I was but a young naive pup when it came out, so I'll definitely watch it again with slightly more jaded eyes. Might enjoy it.

I just remember a big fuore when it came out about it being anti islamic, only to find it wasn't true in the slightest.

Film for tonight sorted. Worth watching the directors cut or normal version?

Oh yeah, OT, saw Fight Club recently in the cinema. Great fun. ^_^
