If you could go back in time to one Musical event

100 Club 1976 Sex Pistols. I don’t want to wish my life away but if only I’d been 6 or 7 years older, I’d have seen them live in the 70’s.

YEAH seeing the Sex Pistols live in retrospect would be a buzz, we all know they could hardly play, but as a hypotheitcial time traveler and being neutral, it would have been fun to observe their shenanigans first hand and see if all the rumours were correct :)

I would’ve put money on you having done so. Ah well I saw PiL in 83 with friends from school but it’s not the same.

I was very lucky because me and my mate took chances on where they might have been playing for one of the gigs.
I didn't get to see PIL, my guitarist went to see them about two months ago in Manchester I think.

LOL if you say so mate, but heard about you and was warned if I talked anything musical here you would turn up with a contraray attitude and perhaps talk about yourself, its cool though and I think you are wrong on this occasion, now please lets get back on topic again, Thanks, will not argue with you.

Yes whatever but you're spouting complete crap.
Also my contrary attitude never turns to putting other peoples musical tastes down except the Pet Shop Boys.
I'm just wondering how you were warned ABOUT ME an old fat bald headed dwarf of no interest.
Were you in a pub talking to somebody and your mate said "Ooh be careful, if you go on OCUK there's an old bloke who is well into his music and he might have a different opinion" :)
Seriously do people do this :)

Those early bands were all great musicians like the Damned, Jam, the Clash etc but what came after wasn't very good.
Take no notice of the poor audio quality and the crap vocals, listen to how tight the band are, Cook and Matlock are totally locked in -

Thought of another band who are in my top ten but I've never seen - KANSAS.
I'd like to see a live concert when they did the Two For The Show live album in the 70s.

I'd like to go back and see GHOST touring their first album.

So difficult this question, so many bands I never got to see or have broken up and I'd like to see one last time.

I miss The Beta Band would love to see them again. I never saw Lush. Early Stone Roses would be amazing. Too difficult.

Saw them at The Wheatsheaf, along with countless other great bands. Was a sad day when that place closed.

By the way, I'm at D Block later to hand get my DBS certificate scanned in. Loom out for weird ****** with what currently resembles a mullet. :D

I saw many bands at The Wheatsheaf including Oasis and Peter Green among the most famous.
The former owner Anne is one of my friends still.

Where Sodexo are in D block is where I was for a number of years until we moved to A Block opposite and I still park my bike to the right of the D Block building.
I'm not in this week but will be in next Monday & Wednesday.
I'm the other side of that top window - https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@53.0...irddBo2iA!2e0!7i13312!8i6656?hl=en&authuser=0
Funnily enough turn around and those two girls are my colleagues (or were).

The first time the Blue Danube instrumental was played without the crap words.

I always think it would be good to have a time machine and hold hostage a old time composer, stick on a blindfold light the fire and set up a good sound system take the blindfold off and let rip with Dark side of the moon for starters then let rip the prodigy :)

One of my bucket lists.
All around the World musicians are being taught the fine details of old Composers works and classical musicians are judged higher than any other musicians by their peers.
I often wonder that if you went back to listen to a classic piece of work being performed at that time would it have sounded more like the Porstmouth Sinfonia :)
