If you don't have an iPhone...

I don't understand your point. Of course someone from a PC background isnt going to find them immediately usable. If everything was the same then there wouldn't be any choice. Engage common sense before posting.

I always thought that Macs were easier to use than PCs, and more stable, but when I first used one I couldnt find the power button, took me a while to figure out to save to USB, and the thing froze up and crashed when I simply pulled my USB stick out after the file had finished copying.

So you couldn't find the power button, that says a lot about you... not that it needed saying.

Meh, PCs are more stable and easier to use.

I wouldn't say one is easier to use than the other, it all comes down to what you are used to.

Trolltastic, as always bhavv. I've never once seen you post anything good about anything as a matter of fact, you just like to antagonise people who might want to have an actual discussion.

Engage sarcasm detector before quoting and replying.

Everything you post must be 'sarcastic' then, as it never makes much sense.

finding the power button is a bit tricky when its on the back instead of the front.

The post was a joke about how Macs are advertised as easier to use and being more stable than PCs, surely it isnt hard to figure that out?

As stated it had the same structure as all your posts in this thread so it's hard to tell serious bhavv from his not so bright cousin.

Do they state the Mac version is fully written from the ground up or is it a half assed port?

As far as I'm aware it is a sister version to the PC one. So basically built from the ground up, I believe Traktor 1 was even compiled for Unix.

Another downside, but its more to do with company support, is a lack of midi controller mapping for DJ software. The windows versions exist, but the Mac versions do not.

But thats not really apples fault now is it. Its kinda silly that mapping configs arent universal between the softwares.

Always annoys me when companies leave out features on one platform over another but never state why.

Indeed, but then we all know there are things that one can handle and the other cant. It works both ways/

Logic for example on Mac, superior to anything on PC. Awesome piece of software, and I would own a Mac just for this software, if my interest ever moved from a hobby to a more full time interest

But also, Traktor DJ, As great as it is on both formats, I've seen its struggling point on Mac. Loading a 300GB Mp3\CDG library. And then trying to do a search afterwards, The Mac really does struggle, crawl, it locks up as it cant handle common search terms. Like the, and, etc.

The same software on PC, with the same library. No problems.

And that ends the argument really, its dependant on the user..I work in graphics, so l like macs...expose is brilliant for workflow, but all my music creation stuff is Pc based, and never really got on with Logic..but thats what im used to..so I went and built myself a Pc with WIn 7..as I like Win7, but I hated having to jump between two screens for each thing, (it was me being embarrassed when we did the Ai file thing lol) mate ion the phone oh his 2008 4gb duel core..me with my SSD Quad core 8gb or ram looking at a task bar and he was asking me what was taking so long...cue long laughter from him.

Ahh so your basing it on what the 1TB you get as standard would cost as opposed to what it would cost as a stand alone?

I wasn't basing it on anything, I didn't post the original pic.

However, if you consider the cost of the initial drive @ £49 + £120 to upgrade it is indeed an additional £82 over simply buying the 2TB drive.

Well no, because they are speccing a different sata2 drive, when the original is a higher end drive anyway and on top of that it's sata3 which would lead me to believe the 2gb would be sata3 as well.

But unless he posts a link to where he took the screen shot it's a bit hard to discuss further.

The original hard drive is sata 3, so the 2tb one will almost certainly be sata3 6gbps

Why would anyone buy a Sata 3 mechanical hard drive? Just seems stupid in my opinion, I made a mistake it's not X58 it's sandy bridge.
And I already have it's Here.
It's more due to the stupid idea of them using Sata 3 mechanical hard drives and not giving the option of a more sensible cheaper Sata 2 one that is annoying me now, not the price.

ios - people who want everything out of the box and don't care about customization and stuff like that.. while having a stable system 99% of the time

android - system that can be changed in pretty much every aspect and allows the user to customise it to death.. again stable if used with stable addons and ROM's..

both apple and android pretty much cover the whole market in my eyes.. there's people who love fiddling.. and there's people who want it to just "work"

on the add - yeah it was very cheezy i heard it yesterday and went "Wtf" but since i have a "cut" function in my brain from release i just pasted it in the bin :)

Exactly, was only using the information that was provided. I mean, he could have picked the £57 2TB drive (which they may well use).

On that note, I want to know why Apple don't seem to publish the full specs.
I can't find any details on exactly what processor it is, what hard drive is and what memory make they are using . My google fu is weak but I don't see any mention on something like This.

I also went for an average 2 Tb hard drive from sight, could have picked a £57 one but for all I know and you know, that hard drive that they are selling could be the equivalent as the £57 or a higher range one.

I think the hard drives are usually Western Digital and the memory Crucial.

The upgrade costs are far too high, but then most parts are just as easy to change as other brands now.
