lol, i know what you mean, but i think that in a way the e60 M5 could damage and not enhance BMW's reputation. It's a great car but it's also an incredibly complex one at that, and there is a huge potential for something or other to break. I think these will end up as nightmare second hand cars once they're 7 or 8 years old or over 100k (which i believe Fox said renders them ineligible for the all singing all dancing BMW warranty)R124/LA420 said:Well, money no object, who'd care about the costs?

Since the 60's BMW have been building cars at the forefront of modern technology and design. Unless you want them to build you a motorbike, producing the cars they do today is typical of BMW!Gibbo said:one can only hope BMW go back to their roots a little for the next range of M cars.

as the future marches ever nearer, this is the way things are going. it won't be long before the driver looking for a real drivers car will only have 2 options.Gibbo said:Hi there
It just that every new M car seems to get heavier and the steering is less responsive and has less feedback. For me one of the biggest complaints is the steering, there is pretty much no communication from the road at all in the E46 M3 and the press are reporting the new M3 to be no better. They are still great cars but there are better alternatives for people who want more of a drivers car.
