If you had the money, what car would you buy?

Wtf? It means you ARE driving a nice car, not that you're trying too hard...

I would rather drive something less well know but is more reliable and a better drivers car. It is the image a lot of these carry that puts me off. If a had a lottery win or whatever the last car I would be is a Ferrari. Obvious choice and more a statement than a car

I dont understand why if money was no object some of you would have an r34 skyline  Surley if you saved your pennies you could have one of them in not so long anyway. If money was no object idd got for a ferrari 250 gto or a Koenigsegg CCX because they are awesome-obviousley in black ;)

Its what floats your boat.

For the same reason, I'd quite happily have the Alpina BMW that I posted about - even though - in the thread's theme - I could afford a brand new one ! -Which I can't. :)

If I won the lottery I'm sure I'd find room in my garage for some kind of German or Jap barge for when I wanted the ultimate reliable cruiser. It would sit beside much Italian exotica, however :D

If Id come into some money, Id be right down to the Lambo garage to get a Yellow Gallardo Spider for a weekend toy.

After that I would be rushing to the Audi garage to buy a new Black RS4 Avant for the daily driving.

Guess this is like that dream cars thread.

Still the Bristol Fighter T for me. More power then a Bugatti Veyron, yes please!

Hi there

What the hell does that mean?

I am sorry but the M6 though its a nice car is nothing special at all on the handling front. It feels heavy, has vague steering and well its too heavy. M3 CSL and Z4M Coupe are the two best drivers BMW's left in the current lineup and the new M3 is looking to be a let down.

A Ferrari F430 is a true drivers car, a BMW could only hope to be as good, well modern BMW's anyway because the older E30 M3's were truly fantastic, one can only hope BMW go back to their roots a little for the next range of M cars.

Also Porsches give a unique driving experience that no other car can match, having the engine in the boot gives for a very rewarding experience. Then the handling of a 911, Cayman S is truly something else, again the M6 is way out of its league in such company.

Lambo's those are also fantastic and as such the comments in your post just seem daft. Go drive a 911 Turbo, Ferrari F430 and a Lambo Gallardo and then get in the M6, all I can say is after driving those you will think the BMW is crap when it comes to the way it makes you grin and on the handling side of things.

most of the image you are talking about stems from jealousy. people too jealous to say 'wow nice car' so would rather be bitter about it.

You know, I've just realised that if money is no object at all then I can have my all time dream motor in both varietys.

A '62 Ferrari 250 GTO and a '64 Ferrari 250 LM, and then also employ some ex-special forces as a security detail around the garage. :p

nissan micra SPORT in black would do it for me !

then again when i finish the medication, and win the lottery (without telling 'her' of course ) who knows ?

Ferrari 250 GTO for weekends and track driving,

I'm surprised so many (myself included!) go for the e60 M5.

I pick it as #1 due to my requirements for a saloon that sits 4 in comfort - The M5 is a compromise - albeit a damn good one.

As Spie has just discovered, better performers are out there, but, you pay a price in fewer seats higher price etc etc.

Either the M5 is seriously over rated by us users (& potential ones) , or, perhaps its the best compromise between size ,performance & practicality?

hopefully the OP meant this thread to be a money no-object thread as that's what situation you'd need to be in to handle the e60 M5's never-ending ability to throw repair bills at it's owner.
