Ignorant builders

Do you know what company he works for. I would call them and inform his management of the way he is speaking to you and how he is repesenting his company. I mean it might get you no where but some companies would go nuts over this type of thing.

Not sure if the police would do anything in time. If you called it would be treated as not important. They would get someone to attend but when they were in the area or they might not even turn up. This sort of thing rarely gets resolved by the police.

Also photos would be helpful for you later on (so you can back up what your saying if the police turn up) and OCUK massive

Block him in tomorrow, or just leave it and know that he gets his comeuppance every day by living with such a substandard brain

Does you, your wife or child suffer from anything medical? If you cant even walk out claim that if your wife was to suffer a serious heartattack due to her medical condition then how can an ambulance even come to help?

He's basically made your own home a jail, he's kinda kidnapped you....if you get where Iam going?

Many would indeed.

This is what I would do :)

Make a "No Parking or your Clamped £150 release fee" sign.
Wait till they use the JCB.
Put sign up in a Clearly visible place & take pics.
Wait till they park it there again & Block it in because obviously you cannot clamp it. Wait for them to come back to use the JCB & hold out your hand for the £150.

In your favour is how much it costs to run a JCB for a day including Driver rental derv etc As soon as they cannot use it the Foreman will kick up merry hell. When he comes to your door to get the JCB back you can explain to him why you have had to take such measures.

Be aware though that you are stopping Builders from earning there daily so expect trouble.

You need to be SIA licensed to do that.

Even on your Own property ???

Damn, Seems so.

You will need to apply for a license from the SIA. If you are front line staff, you must be over 18, pass an identity and criminal record check, and have the right SIA approved qualification. If you are non-front line staff, such as a manager or director, you will need to pass a criminal record check and an identity check. You will not need to take the training. If you are front line staff you will need to wear the license where it can be seen at all times when working.
Edexcel is the official awarding body for the new vehicle immobiliser qualification. To find out details of local training courses, contact them on 0870 240 9800 or visit http://www.edexcel.org.uk.

The license application fee for front line staff is £190 for 1 year. Non-front line staff will also need to pay £190 but the license is valid for 3 years.

Just block them in with an old motor then, as it's Your property you can buy a 20 quid Banger with No tax & block them in with that. **** 'em. :p

I'm not worried about trouble from the builders, plenty of people nearby who can deal with them if necessary.

I went to speak to one of our friends over the road who's next door neighbour is also having the same work done, apparently the builders cut her water off (our friend, not her neighbour who's actually getting the work done) with no warning for 3 days, they then started cursing at the feller from the waterboard who came to fix their **** up when he asked them how they'd managed it.

Anyhow, the JCB is gone now, car is out on the road preventing them getting anywhere near our drive, I'll just have to not use the drive until they've finished their work in 2 months time.

A JCB can still drive with busted tyres, Not much will stop an Angry JCB. Anybody seen the video footage of the ram raid on the Dome in a JCB. :D
Personally I would have just asked the Dude politely & ignored his builders BS.
Do unto others & all that.

Even though it is currently all sorted, I would still complain to the company management itself, at least get the foreman disciplined for his ignorance.
