Im becoming a freak!

Heheheh, just read your thread on NSRA. Blackpopuk is my mate Mark and he runs www.hotrodphotos.co.uk where you saw the first link to his pop. Bare in mind his one has been in the works for 13 years now. 13 YEARS!!!

Kapri is Kev Rooney, another friend and well respected rodder in the UK. He knows EVERYTHING there is to know about brakes, engines etc in small classic Fords. You thought I was a know it all, I know nothing compared to him! I rang him earlier this afternoon with a quick brakes question for mine and he was happy to talk. Shame you didn't get there a few months earlier as Kev just sold his pinto powered pop for £3500 I think, cheap for the work in it.

Its a seriouslt tight nit community alright!
Its scary how much ye know about the cars though

Ill update the thread soon enough with a diehard plan. And try not to sounds like a god damn 5 year old lol:(

No seriously, on NSRA I expect most assumed you are a 40 year old beardy weirdy trying to chop up a pop. If they knew you were 18 you'd get double the help, you'd be the kid legend on that forum! I'll email Kev and Mark, let 'em know.

Haha fair enough mate. I can use all the help I can get! Got my welding courses up sorted. Ill have ti get me own welder as the one that I got now looks older than the pop!

I see one kids got a spanking clean pop on the hot-rods uk site.

I had my dad's hotrod for a bit and that's got 330hp, almost no flywheel and a race clutch. It's perfectly manageable in traffic. When you drive a rod you aren't sitting there going 'jesus this traffic is crap, I'm so bored, I'm tired etc etc.' You're sitting in there with your V8 rumbling away with your arm hanging out the window. Even when it's raining. You get bored, you mash the throttle and the beast breathes out some noise, people around you get erections and ask you to do it again, women smile, thumbs go up. You trash a couple of japmobiles off the lights, you do an impromptu burnout. Life could not be more fun than driving a hotrod :D

...and then you encounter a slight deviation in the road. Some people have the nerve to call them bends, the deranged call them "corners" and the worst of the worst will argue all day how badly you will get utterly nailed in the Twisties™.

Heh, who cares about the twisties when you almost have the power to weight ratio of a superbike?!?!?! :D

So you have to slow down a bit for a corner. Makes coming OUT of the corner all that more grin factor when you plant the loud pedal again and your head is smashed into the headrest!!

Besides I live in town, there are no twisties and I always win my traffic lights grand prix :D

It doesn't matter, you can just pull up at a junction and do a rolling burnout instead. Being a hooligan is fun.

Go on then Fox, show me a modern car where every example built has an absolutely perfect reliability record.

:p

I can show you the reverse of that!!

A 1986 rustbucket that is all original after 191,000 miles and could be worked on and maintained by a well trained chimpanzee due to its simplicity. It's sitting out in my drive right now.....

Or a 1981 that has 230,000 miles on it and is all original with the exception of the starter and the carb (my fault)......

But the newest one in the drive is sitting for the second consecutive winter due to a major part failure......

A car that I can fix myself for less than $100 in parts and still be running after 200,000 miles > ANY newer car that costs $100 just for them to tell you what the car is, let alone diagnose what the problem is - "Oh, wait. You want it repaired, too?!?!? AHAHAHAHA!! Dig out the VISA Platinum, mate. You're going to need it!!" in under 100,000 miles.....

I seen a mini pick, beautiful car. Wide arches, sweet fat little wheels, mini stripes and a leather bed cover, very cool today parked beside an M3............at least i think it was an m3...wasnt really paying attention :p :D

Now you're talking ;)

Was it green by any chance? That guy lives near me, but he's not the most social :(
I know there is a blue one kicking about too - I saw it tearing up pearse street one day.

Mini Pickups are very rare and getting very expensive, but they are ridiculously cool. I'm going to buy one in a few years

Something like this, but still on 10s:
