I plucked up the courage to ask this afternoon, after a lovely walk through the countryside and a picnic, and she said yes

Probably crazy, but asking her Dad for permission was so much harder than asking her! But then I already knew she'd say yes (well, pretty much

), which helped!

Have spent most of today phoning friends and relatives to spread the news. I didnt plan for that bit

In fact I hadnt thought much beyond getting the little box out of my pocket, to be honest!

Rambling here, nevermind.

Her name's Lucy and she's a theology student at university with me - and my housemate

We've been together for 4 years today ( :eek:

) which takes us back to AS levels! She's fantastic

And even said I chose the same ring she would have - I call that a success!
