She was never 'on the street', thankyou very much :p But yes, it feels right so who cares if we're younger than most?

It was an odd one. Her dad's a very traditional chap, (Yes, you really could use 'chap' to describe him.. ) so I knew he'd be offended if I didnt ask. At the same time though, I knew I would have asked her even if he said no, it just would have made things a little messier and less pleasant. (At the end of the day I didnt see it as asking him, more as telling him I was going to do it beforehand. I didnt phrase it that way to him of course! ;)) Still, this way he's been given the impression I'm all gentlemanly and such, and as he approved the union (so to speak) its more likely we'll get some financial help with the big day. Plus since both families are happy we can have a get-together to celebrate the engagement and talk about the big day - much more satisfying than running away to Gretna!

Apparently I'm set for life now. The ring I chose for her had three diamonds set in a row (called a trilogy design) which are meant to be for past, present and future. (Yeah yeah, very cheesy!) But its free to interpretation. It seems 'more' 'tea' 'please' also works. I've tried some other word combinations too, but they're not forum-suitable ;)
