Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

"He's thrown a kettle over a pub, what have you done?"

Anyway, a little Pi Zero W to act as a backup Pi-hole. Annoyingly I had to snap off the GPIO slot as I could only get a pre-soldered Zero but I think I'll get an LED hat and program some status LEDs for stuff.

Any reason you need a backup? They're pretty stable, mines running on the original raspi without any issues for many many months.

Is there a way we can have a PS "thought of the day" - like Trump does his daily brief. As a standalone thread that could be OcUK gold but when stuck inside of "Images" it could be lost forever.

You've derailed from hang bags and flip-flop statements. Congrats. :p

It looks like a lovely little warmer for this weekend, given the weather looks less than decent.
I tried some in a pub about a year ago, and have fancied getting a bottle ever since. I've been through about 5 bottles of various whiskies since lockdown started, and the cupboard's now empty enough whereby I can justify a little expense of something I've fancied for so long :D It was pretty reasonable at £42 delivered as well!

Says who?

That's how often you get a free checkup doesn't mean you need to go get it done.

Unless my eyesight has deteriorated which it hasn't I'm fine. In fact that was the first checkup I've ever had due to migraines never needed one before that.

If you wear spectacles or something then you should get tested 2 years or whenever your having eye issues whichever comes first. Those with perfect vision need not bother wasting their time.

You're supposed to get your eyes checked every 2 years for health reasons e.g. to detect any problems such as glaucoma etc. Same as you would go to a dentist for regular check ups.

Oh and every optician I've been to have never cared less about migraines, they just ask if I have seen a doctor, and if I say no, they say go and see one. Then carry on doing what they were doing.

I've bought some new glasses pre-lockdown and SpecSavers won't let me have them.

Ah Lagavulin, the 16 is a fav of mine!
I didn't realise I had already tried the 16, but I have, and I bloody loved it. Another one for the shopping list. I'm sort of hoping Amazon have a summer sale like they did last year, once this covid thing's blown over a bit and they're kick-starting the economy.

I have done the same with beer! :D

Oh look, there's some space in the cupboard for more bottles...

Beer's on the shopping list too

How do you know your legs still work? How do you know your hearing still works?

It's pretty obvious if you wake up and can't see what you used to be able to. The same way it's obvious you can still walk the exact same way you used to. It's as if people on here need their hand held through life re-assuring them everything is okay when nothing has changed.

If however I was walking like John Wayne every day then I'd go see my doctor about a hip replacement. I'm amazed how simple some people are they need someone to tell them everything is okay when nothing has changed.

People are definitely getting dumber and they can't seem to use their brains. Proof of this is someone in the home and garden section saying he had just bought a dremel and wanted to ask others what they used it for, my response stating I used it to polish my ring was deleted for some reason even though it's a valid use for a dremel, it's obvious what I was getting at and it was a sarcastic post but humour fails a lot on here and people cannot tell when they are being trolled, basically you use a dremel for the purpose it's made for and theres plenty of youtube videos showing you it's uses. The same way people ask on here whats the best X to buy. When there are specialist websites with buyer guides on them. It's as if nobody can do anything for themselves on here any more when a simple google could answer their question much better than some random person on here.

That website needs stickied in the home cinema section. Since people don't know how to do anything for themselves any more.

Absolute tosh, your eyes most certainly need testing.

You always stated that your Sony XF90 had perfect blacks when displaying HDR which I can confirm is not the case. If you can't see that then I'm sorry you must be blind.

I went from plasma to plasma and then to Fald.

I had a modern GT50 as my last plasma.

The black levels on the Xf90 when dolby vision kicks in are insane you can't tell its an lcd.

The black bars are black

I can very much tell it's an LCD and them borders suffer from bloom in DV.

Sadly I don't have 20/20 vision so have to wear glasses.

Black Levels and Contrast Performance
As mentioned above the XF90 makes good use of it’s local dimming system with the VA panel to produce some of the best blacks we have seen for a while at this level of the LCD market. We measured black performance to be just 0.0015nits with local dimming at medium and 0.0012nit at high. It easily hit our 120nits SDR target that equates to an on/off performance of 80,000:1, which is excellent for an LCD TV.

Black Level
Full-screen black on the Panasonic TX-P50GT50 measured at 0.010 cd/m2, which is visibly the same as the 0.009 cd/m2 we measured from the ST50 and VT50. This means that the Viera GT50 plasma TV produces one of the deepest black levels on the market.
