Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

do they work with the new SKY Q LNB's or would you have needed to request they install a hybrid LNB instead of the standard one upon installation of SkyQ?

Yes they work with the SkyQ Wideband LNB - they will record up to 4 channels concurrently with this (although they will also work with older non-wideband LNBs i.e. SkyHD but you will only be able to record 2 channels concurrently)

I have the 2 fixed port wideband LNB.
If you have a "Hybrid" LNB, then it has to be the fixed port versions (either 2 wideband + 2 legacy, or 2 wideband + 4 legacy). The earlier "smart" 6 port one's will only function as legacy, as the Freesat box does not know how to switch them to wideband like a SkyQ box does.

Such a relief isn't it - Enjoy your freedom. :)

Not getting any interest on any savings at the moment and had three years left to pay on the 25 year mortgage so paid it off. Managed to dodge the wife’s suggestions of moving somewhere slightly bigger (3 to 4 bed) and taking out a large mortgage which has proved itself the right thing to do in these uncertain times.

Re the uncertainty Joe Rogan had an interesting podcast the other day where the guy was arguing rather than bail out the banks why not bail out the public using taxpayers money and make them whole again.

Basically the banks messed up. People over extended too based on future income which didn't become fruitful.

But they decided to take billions and bail out the banks rather than just give everyone £50k to make their mortgages viable again.

They could have said heres said billions we want you to knock £50k off everyone's mortgage. Rather than say here's billions to help you out.

The end result would have been similar in terms of spend but people would have kept their homes.

Now we have uncertain times again. The government is being asked to bail out airlines, hight streets, etc.

People need to think outside the box rather than propping up a system which isn't viable long term or bailing out large companies that made poor decisions.

It would give a lot more people certainty however politicians don't work for the people they are puppets for the rich and massive corporations.

Like these!

Amazing how grippy the soles of FiveTens are, i didn't believe they'd make a difference but a pair and some decent pedals is basically the same as SPDs :p

Goodo and cheers! Haven't tried them yet, but really like them. Almost a shame to get them dirty riding :D

It’s a fine idea in principle, but banks seemed to have learned the lessons of the last financial crisis and accepted greater regulation and increased their capital buffers. That has seen them - so far - ride out Brexit and COVID without too many difficulties.

How many individuals would respond to being bailed out by committing to save more and spend less in the future? I suspect most would carry on as before with the new expectation that if it hits the fan again then the government will sort them out.

yeah but bankers made billions and then were made whole again. i would prefer they helped small individuals out for a change

Get em while they're going cheap, I guess...

Also trying a new MyProtein product. Around 160 cals. It's a little dry and almost 'chalky' for a flapjack, but actually quite nice in the end.

Intel version, took me nearly 6 weeks to receive it, I didn't mind too much with the extra 10% off, only cost me about £463 in the end for the 512gb version with full RGB, nice little machine.

I posted the following advice in the hotukdeals thread,

"Bluetooth audio works a treat on this laptop, also in case anyone didn't know Windows 10 supports APTX audio codec natively, I used an app called Bluetooth Tweaker (https://www.bluetoothgoodies.com/tweaker/), that enables you to see the codec information for Bluetooth devices and I can confirm the APTX codec was being used for my Bluetooth headphones (B&W P5 wireless).

I would highly recommend grabbing a pair of Bluetooth headphones for this laptop as the onboard dac/amp is really not that great (like most laptops), if your on a budget I would recommend something like the AKG Y50BT, you can grab a refurbished model here for only £29.99, that really is an absolute bargain for a pair of good APTX headphones (C50BT is same as Y50BT)."

I also adjusted the windows scaling down to 100%, if you've got good eyesight you can fit so much more on screen and it looks a little crisper at native scaling.
