I imagine someone once quipped that a corner sofa was the aspiration of the poor and it's then been a running joke that needs to die
One of the best little thing I ever did for my trainers in the gym was buying these.
How so?
I haven't tried them but a guy at my work loves them. It turns laced shoes into slip-ons, while still looking like lace-ups.
First..pure laziness, coming home form work to pull on trainers with jsut a simple slip/ notch thing without lacing them up.
second, I swap from outside normal trainers to lifting shoes some days that means slipping them off and putting the others on, this back and forth is more simple.
Third, these, or mine at least, is like a very tough elasticated string material, so there no "tightness" around the top of the foot where the knot on a conventional lace would be, its more like the top of the trainers hugs the foot more evenly over the top of yrou foot, not sure that makes sense.
Can he still maneuverer his fingers hands okay? Mine ( and theres a few different styles to how they work), is like on teh plastic point where the laces feed though, its a spring switch to open and close the notch to tighten the laces, if you think he can do that then yes, would make life a lot easier.
Can get them in all kinds colours and stuff as well.
Just Google elastic laces - I got these from eBay about £3.80 a pair and they come in all sorts of colours

It's been a few years but from what I remember someone posted a photo on their new corner sofa. Our corner sofa isn't meant to be delivered for another 2 months! But I'm going to post it on here with pride when it does.
It was the whole room that was chavvy. The corner sofa was just the cherry on the cake.
I've no doubt there are tasteful corner sofas. This was not one of them.
To be fair they are. They suddenly became all the rage and every house on a council estate had one, usually either brown leather or corduroy. Usually costing no more than £299 for some cheap sofa outlet.
Forever gave corner sofas a bad name. Same when chavs latched onto Burberry. Burberry sales in the UK plummeted once Chavs started wearing their stuff.
Sure... if you're that vain that you're afraid of being judged by what sofa you have.
