Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Sure... if you're that vain that you're afraid of being judged by what sofa you have.

Nobody is saying people shouldnt buy corner sofas, they obviously should buy what they like or suits the room. Still doesnt stop it being Chavy though. Like i said, lots of people stopped buying Burberry once the chavs started wearing the clothes.

To be honest, i don't think people still stop buying Burberry, certainly not the people who are rich enough to not care about chavs. You only have to look at the Burberry share price to see how it's grown in the last 10 years.

Now they have recovered from the "Chav years" but at the time back in the early 2000s Chavs wearing Burberry decimated their market in the UK. In some outlets sales were down 40%.

Plus Burberry is an international brand and didnt have the Chav issue in the rest of the world so werent too badly affected by the UK downturn in sales.

You work in the industry, or is this just Google info?

No I am old enough to remember the early 2000s and all the Chavs wearing Burberry and how Burberry said it was adversely affecting their UK sales.

I then googled it before posting the above to make sure my memory had been correct. :)

I remember that too, I believe it started with some football hooligans wearing them at football matches to identify themselves so when they got into fights they know who’s on who’s side and not punching your mate.

This is Googlefu also, right? :D

Sounds like you've been watching too much Greenstreet

It's happened with a few brands such as Lacoste and Lyle and Scott, they get an influx of sales by the great unwashed and then they move on to something else after a few years and nobody wants to be seen dead in that gear.

At the moment it seems to be Gucci that is suffering, kids everywhere wearing that awful baseball cap they do.
