Agreed. It isn't just poor aesthetics though, if you have your phone in a case then the extra thickness from the camera bump can push the phone far enough away from a wireless charger that it doesn't work. It's really not ideal!

I'd rathera thicker phone body and a bigger battery. There's just no point in making the body so thin and then having a camera bump that ugly.
I actually though that was a joke, how far off the body is that lens?
I was thinking the same, It looks like the camera is bumped up twice in that photo
(a Camera bump and a lens bump )i just googled the iphone 13 pro and the camera bump also looks the same

On one of my old phones I used a magnetic charging cable and the phone end of the plug got so hot it started smoking and burnt out the charging port.
And it charged slowly!

I really want to try one of these magnetic cables to prevent wear and tear on my phone's charging port. However, from reading online looks like these types of cables do not meet the USB standard for reasons such as the one in your post. So if it breaks your phone, you're screwed.
