A coffee grinder that doesn't work. It's going back. Anyone got any recommendations for a functional one? Max £75.

A functional one or a decent one?

What kind of coffee you brewing?

Electric or hand grinder?

You can probably tell from my question is that for the money, you can get a coffee grinder for £75, but it won't be amazing if it's electric and it might not do espresso well...it might do drop or immersion perfectly fine at this price.

Thanks for the info! It's for aeropress and pour over mostly.

I think the aeropress needs pretty fine grounds.

That one looks a lot better gav! Will have a look at getting it when my refund comes through.

But the rate wifi is progressing for 99 percent of people cabling is unnecessary. Ive just binned off my last wired connection. The pc in my room. Either the ethernet cable or the adapter has flaked.out on me.

If you need cable for whatever reason you need it. But Its OTT to be a staple in new homes.
Yet if I'm on Zoom calls, I can always tell who is on wifi and who isn't. The best wifi in the world will never, ever beat a proper cabled connection, period.

Superking size bed just need some new furniture - large australian labradoodle for scale

Seems a bit mental it was pretty much £4k for the bed and frame + bedding and now considering a topper.... My old bed was 300 quid!

*snip*

You should have gone for a bespoke / tailored bed instead.

We ordered from here last year - https://tellybeds.co.uk/ for a custom-built Ottoman storage TV bed, proper / genuine leather for £2k delivered.

I don't really need a tv in my bedroom, but the mattress is from John Ryan which I believe is fairly well reviewed (and seems very comfortable to be fair)

The frame is a sprung divan frame which adds to the cost (rather than a rigid frame). Mattress was about 2k, frame was 1.2ish and headboard £400

Fortunately it's the type of thing you buy once in 10+ years

You're talking to someone that works in enterprise technology and networks.

Sure. But for. 99pc of people wifi is plenty good enough.
I'm not saying wifi is better in every way, but i would argue as a whole package it is much better at home.

But still. Wifi is coming on all the time. Who knows what advances might come out round the corner. It's a bold statement to say "never".

I agree that Wifi will never be better than wired but how crappy is people's wifi if they can't handle a zoom call? I suppose a lot of people's wifi is crap as they still use their ISP supplied router from 6 years ago.

My sister's wifi is dreadful. Her router (think it is the free one from Sky), is in the front room of the house and she often do wifi video call in the kitchen which is the back of the house. It breaks up, pauses, like it is 240p video.

Wifi can work, the one i got installed last week gives me max speed from the far end of the garden and mine is from the ISP too.

There was a review of a router from LTT yesterday with wifi 6e that gives 1200mbps down and 1500mpbs up, but the router was 6 inches from the laptop. But at 20ft away, with direct line of sight it dropped about half the speed....it's still quick at like 700mbps but the difference in such a short distance in direct line of sight was quite drastic.

I was pained to suffer a colleagues Teams call yesterday. Especially so as he was once a qualified network engineer. He is using the Sky Q crap and his device keeps jumping between APs. Even my 73 year old mother has a TP Link router in place of the garbage Sky sent that keeps disconnecting.

Thought I'd try this out of curiosity. It's a non-alcoholic drink that supposed stimulates the same neurotransmitter sites as alcohol....from infamous first victim of Tory cancel culture, David Nutt.

Tried it last night...taste is odd, but not unpleasant. Definitely got a bit of a relaxed vibe from it, subtle though.

Be interesting how you find this long term and if there are any negative affects the next day.

Had some yesterday with tonic....I quite like the flavour, got plenty of layers to it, although it's got a bit of an aniseedy tinge which lends it a medicinal smell. I like it more than any other non-alcoholic drink I've tried.....missus hates it though.

No after effects the next day. It's kinda hard to give an objective assessment of the 'buzz'. I feel a bit more relaxed, eyes get a bit lazy, if that makes sense. It's subtle though. Could be placebo! No effect on my sleep according to my fenix.

Think you just have to try it!

Cheers, might give it a go.

I don't mind Seedlip, but something for a relaxing Friday night that still lets me get up at 6am to run/cycle would be ideal!
