Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

I been looking at buying one of these for years but the bad reviews i seen on every brand i looked at have always put me off them
Guess i find out now if there really as bad as what many of the reviews say they are

I really wanted only a 30m one but there now the newer compact version and the reviews seen a little worst on them..
But kind of wish i did buy the much smaller compact 30m one as this 40m one really does look huge :(

Mine hanging off the wall was very distracting for awhile..then of course a bit of time it dissappears. Cant rmemeber the size of mine..but was very happy to get the larger one for those random more one off jobs. Better to have it than not blah blah blah.

Let me know how it goes... I'd probably just get the 30m one though as, at the moment I have a 25m hand retractable one (their compact reel)

TBH, 40m might be better.

So my thoughts and impressions on the Garmin.

Look and feel are refreshing, very light and having lots of tactile buttons is a joy. The band is a very stretchy silicone, I prefer it to the firmer silicone on the Apple bands. I did find it a little more uncomfortable on the wrist where the sensor is, I think this is down to the sensor having sharper edges.

Setup was easy and the phone app/metrics are vast, but I get the sense that some of the things they are calculating are non-sense or a guess. Body battery and how long to recover for example.

The biggest disappointment is the software. I should have expected it, but you can tell this is a fitness watch first and anything else is an afterthought. Looking at data on the watch is a long list and clicking into some of them does nothing. Little things like customizing the watch face are clearly not updated to work with a touch screen, having to click up/down buttons to cycle through things. The data tiles on the watch face don't allow you to tap into them.

The menu to control Spotify from my phone is honestly straight up ugly. It's functional sure, but it feels like I'm using some cheap Chinese fitness watch OS there.

During my workout I noticed the HR was a little slow to respond unlike the Apple watch. I found myself after finishing a set looking at a heart rate that didn't reflect my effort, until 10-15s later.

A HR Strap would help a lot with the HR accuracy, but obviously that's something else to have to think about.

I agree though, Garmin generally isn't known for it's software design. Hell, it's only 12 months ago they allowed settings changes from a phone. I'm still on an older 6X and having to change everything using those up/down buttons!

An AC compressor.
Didn't fancy paying €700 for one from BMW or €500 from elsewhere so got this used one sent from a BMW specialist in Denmark for €107.
Ordered on Monday, delivered to me in the Netherlands on Wednesday. The joy of being in the EU :p

One the other reasons I went for the 40m is that it not normally good to pull out the last bit of length. Broken enough tape measures pulling that last few inches out and then they won’t retract

Owned this for a nanosecond, bought it for the bathroom!

Today a visiting family member was besotted by its dinky dimensions, gifted so I own no more! :D
