Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Yes but I would need 8 SSD drives! Anyway, the NAS isn't capable of high speed throughput to make it worthwhile, although that NAS does have a 10Gbe interface only my PC has similar and the rest of the network is still on 1Gbe.

I'm the same. I have Seagate 18TB drives, SSDs are getting cheap now, but not at that kind of density. The majority of the work they do are serving a Plex server. Anything that requires some speed is on an nvme drive, as well as a regular old SSD to handle incoming downloads.

WTF.. I thought it would be a simple job to RMA the failed drive back to Seagate but the warranty status says it expired back in 2021! That's more than 2 years before I even bought the thing. Got it from Amazon so have emailed the seller.

edit: OK, turns out this drive is a US import and as such it has no warranty at all in the UK. If the Amazon seller doesn't pony up a replacement I'm out >£200. Lesson learned but I'm not giving up yet. Oh, and I have 4 more of the things sat in the NAS..

Oh not fun :( I checked the warranty on mine (also from Amazon) the day they arrived to ensure all was good on that front. Thankfully Amazon are pretty decent at returns in my experience.

Bought this too, the race car that initially made the biggest impression on me at the Silverstone TT in 1979. Two of these raced and sounded EPIC and my god were they quick.

The first cars I remember seeing racing are unlikely to ever be released as a model kit - Fiat UNOs. A whole series full of them at Kyalami as a kid. Watching them corner on three wheels is a memory I'll never forget :D

I learnt to drive in an UNO! 4 on the floor and velour as I recall and my driving instructor looked like Tony Blackburn :D

My friend had an uno turbo. Cool little car.

My mum bought one brand new when I was a kid, the only car she ever bought brand new. Not a turbo, the middle one. They came in three flavours in South Africa, the Fire, the Turbo and something else inbetween, can't remember what it was called, if anything. Many fond memories in that car.

Bought a 1tb Crucial P3 and a PCI-E to NVME converter to fill the second slot on my mATX board. Tiny little thing, but the drive runs at its rated Gen4 speeds, so all good. Under £50 for the lot is even better

Not so much buying something, But took a little trip to herm for a swim and dinner last night
Looks as lovely as always. We’ll be there in a few weeks and pleased as punch to be on the Trident instead of that other stupid boat. As soon as I heard what had happened, I was straight on the phone to Peter to tell him how happy I was.
