Been keeping my eye on the kinetic smart home switches and the price on amazon for them 'brand new' dropped for a day so I grabbed a pack of three.
When I went to open the box, the seals were already broken and there were fingerprints on the switches. No real issue, they look fine, I've tested them and they all work perfectly so I reckon they're selling off returns as new. I don't mind getting returned stuff and often buy things from amazon that show as returns. But because these weren't listed as returns, I jumped onto their live chat to tell them. I made sure I told them they all worked, there was no problem but said that if they're selling returns, they should be listed as that. I've bought returns from amazon before, my kindle and the case were all 'as new but with damaged packaging'. I didn't ask for anything but they said they'll refund me 20%.
So these are still pricey switches, just slightly less pricey now
I like these, they're big and chunky with a very necessary positive feel. No batteries and no wires make me a happy chap.

How do they work with no batteries and no wires?
Presume get power from being wired in like a regular switch?
EDIT - Nope, seems to be quite clever in that every "press" generates enough power to send the signal.

Have you seen the gigantic cut out for the face ID on the front. Design left the conversation a long time ago.

There’s a little generator behind each button. When you press it, the generator kicks in and produces enough energy to power the Wi-Fi.
