Did you finally realise your plan of just stacking iMacs only had a limited shelf life as a work setup? I reckon you could have snuck another one in there.

What i found researching phones is that all the features i wanted were never there at my price point always a compromise so i went for an older flagship £300 but had it 3 years ish now Oppo find x2 pro
didn't want a plastic body this has Gorilla glass 6 and high density ceramic feels like a solid chunk of metal
Amoled big screen 12 gig ram
full ip68 rating not just splash
I will definitely get another Oppo but its still pristine ,the only thing missing is wireless charging but as it only takes minutes and i always use usbc dust plugs and the original cable its not an issue

Any good? I need to upgrade my mum's Xiaomi?
So far, yes. It's pretty slick, it's nigh-on flagship grade performance for mid-range money. Comes with Android 14 and the latest Xiaomi HyperOS out of the box too. And now the battery has gone through it's initial period of 'training' it's lasting well over a day too, can leave the house in the morning on 100%, use it all day and and all night and there's still 25-30% left the next morning. The cameras are where they've scrimped, but that said the 64Mp main shooter is no slouch and takes decent shots, including in low-light/at night.

What’s the deal with the individual toe bits…

Pros and cons with comfort and risk I guess. Probably keeps your toes a little cooler but if you have a serious accident and an ambulance comes, they might see those and refuse you treatment.

They have quite a few benefits (freaking people out being the main one!)

They generally help to spread the toes out and stop them being squashed. When combined with a wide toe box shoe then it helps the toes to naturally spread out. This is generally regarded as good for foot health as it reverses the compression done by trainers/shoes which squish your toes due to the fronts being pointy.

They also stop a lot of rubbing on the toes when doing long endurance events which was a huge benefit for me, however now the main benefit is the toe spreading. I've got a nerve issue between my metatarsals which is aggravated when compressed. Wearing these opens up the space inbetween the bones and gives the nerve more space. I also wear toe spreaders (sure i've posted pictures of those before too!) which helps the toes spread a bit more aggresively.

As some will be aware, my washing machine was in need of replacement...
