Images of items I have purchased (except trainers [no feet pics])

Congrats! (I went for 1 carat, E colour, Platnium 950, VS1) but lab grown, a natural one would be 5x the price. 1 carat is a great size on her hand.

I don’t think either of us wear rings now, mainly a risk to loosing fingers or getting older.

@WillGill (and anyone else) Oldham Forge (over near Wales) do a ring making course, last time we were there making knives a couple was making their renewal vow rings. Also one kid was there with his mum making a sword almost larger than him.

I find it incredible how much people will spend on diamond rings.

They’re not even rare either.
my mrs said if I spent more than £100 on an engagement ring she'd say no. Ring was from Etsy (as were the wedding bands), job done. I'm with you on the Diamond front - worlds biggest con led by the De beers folks to restrict supply and inflate costings (and lead with the whole cultural "Spend 3x your monthly salary on a ring" thing)

I think most if not all people knows that diamonds aren't rare and it is De Beers who drives its value up. But they had had decades or century or so in advertising in driving into the subconscious of the public that diamonds are THE stone to put on engagement rings. It is a bit like engagement rings are all a single stone usually. Why is it a single stone? It's because Tiffany did it in 1880's and it became popular and a trend that just held its course over history.

With lab diamonds being much easier produce now and in fact, size isn't really the driving factor, but rather what does the market dedicates, if the market wants more 2 carat stones then they make more 2 carat stones making a 2 carat stone cheaper than say a 1.5 carat as they will make less 1.5 carat. Then supply and demand kicks in when there are less 1.5 carats on the market.

The issue with all this however is it isn't very romantic in talking about "manufactured diamonds", it is very logical and clinical and to some people, the romance of it all is what they are paying for.

Well it was marketing campaign originally and it worked stupidly well making a rock that was very abundant worth something when it's actually pretty worthless (not counting industrial use).

Still makes me confused people are willing to pay for them.

The sim is outside. Believe it or not in Aberdeen.

Out and about, will get some photos when it’s up tomorrow!
Outside, Aberdeen? :confused::confused::confused:

10 hour drive from me to use your golf sim, no thanks. https://www.rightmove.co.uk/ please and move closer so I can use it :p

Is it impact screen and all that jazz or a net and launch monitor? Was it yourself I was speaking with about the Repasado launch monitors in the Golf Thread?

Haha! Shame, you would have been more than welcome to pop round and play some sim golf.

It’s a net with a rapsodo LM yes, and I think it was me.

I had a SKYTRAK that was great but portability and risk from shanks took me away. So I purchased the MLM2 pro lifetime premium as I have the Awesome Golf one too, which is fabulous!

Quick heads up mate, if you are on the fence about one, the year free premium is stopping next month, it’s going down to 45 days!!

Even with the repasado being behind me would not keep it safe from my golf swing :p

Sadly I'm not going to have the space until at least the end of next year, will hopefully be actually buying a house then.

Telling the mrs a double garage is a "must have" so I can build a golf sim ;)
