What is it an air rifle or a real rifle? I’m pretty sure real rifles are still allowed in the uk with the right licence.

Why?

If he's been checked out and has shown over the years he's actively gone to shooting ranges, I don't see the problem.

It can be a hobby you know,what next, ban archery?

Also it's a bolt action that holds 5 (maybe 6?) rounds, not a full auto with an extended mag. I'm generally anti gun ownership but the laws are pretty strict here.

Nothing wrong with proper target shooting, my Dad used to do it and his father before him (with all the appropriate certificates and inspections etc) and both were good enough to shoot at Bisley in their day. In fact my Dad still does air pistol target shooting even now.

Personally, with my eyesight, even sides of barns would be safe ....

Both are completely nessecery for the average civilian so if one isn' the other shouldn't be.

Take a look and see if there is a club close by, they usually do a guest days occasionally. It might not be long distance but if you enjoy it you can always take it further.

Nice, got my FAC through a while back. Got myself an FAC semi-auto shotgun (10 + 1) as well as a Savage Arms Model 16 in .223 16" with Wildcat Evolution moderator. Although mine is for vermin control rather than target.

I have a few other firearms but won't get into that here (no Fac shotgun)

Looking to get a wildcat mod once I drop it in a MDT chassis I have the slot ready just not the money.
