Telling people you've given money to charity is a top tier attention seeking move.
And so is a thread full of photos of material things you've bought, at least his £50 has helped someone. Lighten up.

As above, posting in a thread what you have bought is just as attention seeking yet a lot of people myself included do it and often the cost of things we buy is far more than £50 yet no one bats an eyelid then when its for a more selfish purpose, yet somehow a guy donates to a charity is frowned upon?
