JXD S7800B - I've fallen in love with this device.

It's essentially a quad core Android tablet running Jelly Bean with two analogue thumb sticks and game buttons. Most emulators work straight out of the box with the controls. It will happily run Mame, SNES, Megadrive, PS, N64, Dreamcast roms.

Surprisingly decent build quality for a Chinese tablet, all for £80!

IMO not worth buying expensive in ear headphones. They just break too easily if you use them as much as I do.

I used a pair of FutureSonics Atrio M5s for 5 years, and they have only broken now as I used them as earplugs for a lot of my first year at uni... I don't know what you do to headphones to kill em frequently!

Where for 80? I can only see them for around 100.

Erm if you use them as yoyos maybe but why on earth would earphones break after you use them as earphones? If that made them not worth it then something like this would be headlining in tech news.

I will agree with one thing, not worth buying SOME expensive earphones/headphones because of the marketing BS they represent without showing anything for the price in terms of sound quality. We all know what brands those are, pretty much 90% of everything you can find in high street stores over £150.

Thing is with the bose noise cancelling range is that whilst the sq isn't anything special they are very good at noise cancelling.

For those who travel a lot that can be a godsend, I finally bought some QC20s whilst in the US a while ago (so cost me less) and wish I'd got some sooner.

Previously been using some cheap over the ear noise cancellers and whilst they were good the Bose are better and also a lot comfier on long journeys due to the combination of how they fit and my sticky out ears :p

Over the ear phones just hurt me after a while whereas I can wear these for 8 hours with no issues at all, plus the reduction in background noise they offer is very welcome.

The bose don't actually go in your ear canal, they sit just at the opening, plus point is the comfort, negative is no tight seal so bass doesn't feel as good.

Overall the comfort they provide to me is worth my money, but again sq wise they seem pretty average and prefer my Nocs, but even then having in ear buds in for 8 hours can be uncomfortable so the Bose win when travelling.

The bliss of sliding the power switch when you have plane engines roaring, which then just turn into a light rush of air :)

It isn't worth buying expensive in ears for the fact that the SQ gains are completely diminished by things such as your own footsteps and vibrations in the vehicles you are in. Unless you just sit down and listen to music outdoors on a park bench, you won't be getting much gain out of them. No point imo going for something ludicrously expensive just for out and about use. :p

^If you've owned or listened to a whole bunch of earphones with different ear tips you'll know that's certainly not the case :)

The last 2 pairs of IEMs I've owned came with tens of different size/type ear tips and it's crucial that the tips create a perfect seal in order to block out stuff like vehicles and footsteps. Many people assume if the tip fits without falling out then it's fine when it's actually not. Big tips that fit snugly still might not create a perfect seal and you will lose some sound blocking abilities.
I walk ~5 miles a day to and from work and that's what I base my experience on. I can tell you that because of that my earphones that aren't advertised as active noise cancelling do block out outside noise when playing music and anything that's up to the volume of a bus driving by isn't a problem let alone ambient noises like footsteps or other people.
