Just cannot see the point of a fancy smoke alarm, and a thermostat that doesn't really work properly in a UK house setup and in a situation where a correctly setup timer can be just as efficient.

But yes, that doesn't stop me still wanting them!

They do everything you need if you have a combi boiler but I do agree the lack of normal hot water control is a serious oversight.

You're also forgetting:
Mobile control
learns how long your house takes to heat up and turns the heating on at the correct time
weather prediction
Senses when the house is unoccupied

Plus for me:
I couldn't work out my timer controls
I can only set one temperature on the thermostat
The stat is in a terrible location at the moment so needs moving


I have no interest in the smoke alarm though. If I had a mansion where I couldn't hear an alarm at one end of the house when I was in the other then I would be interested. For everything else it feels very gimmicky to me.

You collect things about things that kill people, you don't collect things about things unless you are interested in the things your things are about and you aren't interested in things that kill people unless you are interested in killing people with those things.

It was pure luck as to which 2 from their back-catalogue I received, this was a "we've got some old stuff, we can't be bothered to categorise it... random sale!" type affair.

Looking down the list of old designs, there's a lot I wouldn't have been too pleased in receiving (because I just didn't like the design, or know what they referenced) - but with these 2, I think I struck it lucky! The Despicable Me one many people will understand, and the Bioshock one is of a decent enough design that it won't really matter if people don't get it - it's just a cool image!

So - if you want either - you'd best find them in the back catalogue on Qwertee, and hope they receive enough votes for a re-print! Because else, they won't make any more!
