New tent arrived today, still in the box but will be getting its first proper outing at the weekend.

Let us know how you get on. I had a very similar tent (Jack Wolfskin Gossamer), loved it at first as it felt like the best of both worlds. Ended up feeling more like the worst of both worlds and I switched to a bivvy bag. About to move to a bivvy+tarp tent setup.

That it actually fits things in it, that it browns an entire slice of bread rather than 3/4 of it etc. None of them actually fit anything you want in them. Unless you assumedly buy bread from the 1950s which must have been much smaller than now. And god forbid you might want to toast a tea cake without it getting stuck in there.
Exactly, took me ages to find a decent toaster, Russell Hobbs 13766 Classic. Had it a couple of years and can't fault it. Cheap aswell.

Got myself some Paracord and a Fire Lighter Flint :)

500lb Paracord, 17' 6" when unraveled (which I hope I'll never have to do as I'd never re-wind it!!) and a Fire Flint and Striker on the Clasp!

Thank God I've got Large Wrists!! :D

I tried the Gelert Solo on a road trip to Mongolia.
What a hideous thing, so small it was ridiculous

Gotta ask why?

Hiking, Camping (Wild Camping) that sort of thing! :)

Mainly got it for the Fire Flint, but the Paracord might come in useful if I need 18 feet of cord to tie some stuff up! or Build a bivvy etc...

I'd then have to buy another, as re-weaving them is a task and a half! :D

How much was it an where did you get it from? (have a friend who's into outdoors **** and Christmas is coming up).

Hmm...

I bought a similar paracord from The Friendly Swede but found it was ridiculously big (even for my large wrists) and looked much smaller in the pictures on Amazon :(

Gave it away to a mate the next day :)

Yours looks ok though :)

Even though it's £9.99 (1p under the cut off) the 'Super Saver' delivery worked!! :)

It's about 1" wide and 1/4" thick... Not for those with Skinny Wrists!! :D

I bought mine in 2003. Can't fault it either.

Didn't take me ages to fine it. The previous el-cheapo toaster broke in warranty, picked that one at random from the reasonably priced ones in Currys as it had a brand I'd heard of.
