Ever get a delivery you forgot you'd ordered? This just arrived.

Usually Pre orders for me, although I've just ordered the Decemberists Deluxe box set from America (can't believe I've actually spent that much on a single album!!!) so no doubt it'll take ages.

I bought this like a year ago, but got it delivered to our US office and then no one could get it to me here as it was too costly. So naturally I flew out there to pick it up... (I was in the area anyway, obviously)

You can see the crack in the plastic cover on the lid, but for the price, I'll take that. I'll get someone to sort me some new plastic. Bargain.
Mrs. said "you better to try and fill that now!!"

Me? Never. :/

Paid the princly sum of 3 harribos to the lad about to chuck it in a skip.

Going to be cleaned up and used as a footrest under my desk at home.

Also gonna shove paperwork inside.

British army 105 mm light gun ammo case, in case anyone wondered.

Certainly is, didn't think anyone would be interested enough for me to post that bit lol

Yup same reaction as me, why people throw them away I have no idea, our QM Dept has moved so they chucked out loads of old stuff.

How it is now is situ, a perfect fit.

It's heavier than I thought, and that is unloaded. No wonder the long range sniper lot are big chaps, these fully weighed up would be very heavy!

I love it and can't believe you got it for free! I'm pretty sure that ammunition is still in use today. 'HE' = high explosive, 'FD' = field, in case you're wondering.

I'm pretty sure that this is the kind of thing the shells were chucked around by:

By coincidence, I have a crate here that held the percussion fuzes for those shells. :)
