make a thread ive only made from the cans in the big buckets would love to see how to do a scratch one.
Are you following a guide online to go from parts to brew? If not, I'd be very interested in a project log.
There's a big thread in the food section on these forums, i'm using the All grain method, or 'full mash' brew, it's better than the kits you can buy as i have full control over strength, flavours etc.
Where i work, we have a micro brewery on site which i've taken an interest in, and in the last year i have been converted into drinking proper beers rather than crap like fosters lol. Before i started working here, i had never had proper beer.
I'm fortunate enough to be able to go and speak to our brewery guys for advice etc, i've been offered ingredients from work too which is nice, and in the long run, not only will i have the satisfaction of drinking beers that i have created myself, but it'll cost ~ £10 for a 5 gallon brew (40 pints), so it'll save me quite a lot of money in the long run too.
I've still got a bit to buy, and a lot to read and learn, but hopefully, i'll be making my first brew in the next few weeks, a simple SMaSH (single malt and single hop) beer. I'm sure i'll write a log when i do do it though, it'l be in the food and drink section.
