I've just bought this as a surprise birthday present for my mum. It's a silver brooch made by Ernest Blyth in 1966.
He was her brother and a quite talented goldsmith in the 60's, 70's and 80's (he won the DeBeers award twice). He died around 15 years ago and sadly the small number of items that my mum had of his were lost is a small house fire around 10 years ago. So I thought this brooch would be a lovely sentimental present for her. I was very pleased when I found it and I can't wait to give it to her tomorrow and see her reaction when she reads the signature on the back
I have some fantastic memories of visiting his studio with my mum and brother in the early 70's to see him work. It's strange to think that he would never have known when he was making this item that it would find its way back to his sister 49 years later.

In my day you never had to wear a helmet and the one day I did I came off in gravel after winter of 62/63 - took back of helmet off - One time I put my goggles on a bee hit my right lens dead center - I am lucky unlike a few of my mates at time.

Don't use it until you've removed the plastic and cardboard, it doesn't make pizza in the box.

Why? They cook in a different kind of way...3 ovens at different temperatures, 2/3 hot plates, brilliant!

We're doing up our living room, so I bought the services of a plasterer (£500):
So glad I didn't attempt it myself. The finish is smooth as glass.
I also spooged £4k on a Multiyork suite, à la:

I'm just used to an oil one that's on all the time, I assume an electric one you turn it on and off like a normal oven. The hot plates are good for making toast!

I took that pic and paid for an identical sofa today. Is that still classed as stock then?
£4k on a suite!!
I spent £1500 on a good quality suite 13 years ago and it still looks as good as new.

Black trainers, can't remember the last time I bought black trainers. I think it might have been when Puma had the no lace 'disc' trainers back when I was 10!
Had some not bad offers on aftershave at Debemhams in the blue cross sale
Time for a new wallet, the CK one that was bought for me over 7 years ago is looking a little worn. This has a smaller footprint and will be easier to slip in to the inside of a suit jacket pocket.
