Picked it up on a whim from Tesco (as it offered 500 Tesco points, which is £20 of meal vouchers!). Spent half an hour reading and installing Kodi and various add-ons. Incredible piece of kit.

how do they work? do they need to be paird up to a pc or phone or are they stand alone?

ps3 is dying so owuld be nice to repalce it with something that can get bbci player and net flix but without using a pc.

Needed a new media center device, was going to get a Fire Tv Stick and install XMBC/Kodi on it, but no USB ports, I need USB ports unfortunatly for my hard drives.
Opted for a Raspberry Pi 2 instead and got it a little case.
£40 in total for Pi + case and the SD card which is a Sandisk 8gb class 10

Works very nice with kodi installed, nice and quick.
plugged in a very old wifi usb stick I had laying around (thats why its so big!) works great.
Got it powered by my TV's USB and set CEC to turn on the Pi when my Tv turns on, and turn it off when I turn my TV off and I can use my TV remote to control the menus.
Very happy with it.

I got about £100 cashed up, there wasn't that much change available, bank holiday weekend and the village cash machine was broken so we'd given out loads of cash back :(

First world probz

friend of mine who used to work at the pub would just watch people pump pounds into the machine. end of his shift he would usually play about 5 pounds make about 25 every time
