Ardbeg is really medicinal. A friend once commented on how it smelt very similar to toilet cleaner. Must be the pine.

Haha true actually. I have the RT-N66U and it does have a very similar pattern.

I think if I ever bother to buy a coffee machine it will be a bean-to-cup job rather than a pod based system.

Yup, it acts like a controller. You can set presets so hitting 1 button can turn on only X number of pedals in Y settings (if they are digital).

Initially its a little daunting and you have to "calibrate" the water hardness but it only takes 5 minutes, realistically. It's a very clean, easy to use system. Its easy to maintain, makes your kitchen smell like Starbucks.

I wanted it because I wanted it all in one system and not multiple units on the kitchen side. Its perfect. I'm very pleased

I have one too but in black... bought it for about the same price when on offer a few months ago.

Great coffee.

For general store-bought coffee, I recommend Lavazza Rosso as a bean that's good for everyone (strong/weak) alike with a good flavour.

But in my nearest town we have a coffee/tea shop that roasts beans fresh every morning and there are some rather nice ones from there too
